As I mentioned in my last review about Tala Camp, that I am relieved that I dont have to look for a hotel in Tala as I have found it--Tala Camp, it is. My last visit was, Feb 27-March 9, 2018. This was my 3rd visit to Bandhavgarh and 2nd stay at Tala Camp.
I have described physical facilities at Tala Camp in sufficient details in my previous review. Hence, I shall not go into the details of the same. Reasons of my repeat stay of 10 nights were,
1) absolute homely atmosphere, where every one knows you by your name.
2) BLD menus are elaborate and made as per one's choice, eg continental type breakfast or Indian style with Paratha and saag with aachar, etc., and veg/non-veg.
3)I am a diabetic. Hence, there were special Jowar rotis made for me instead of the wheat rotis.
4)Mr. Deepak Talan, the owner, arranges all your permits and safaris. This takes out the big anxiety/stress about getting permits for specific safaris for specific days.
5) Invariably, Mr. Talan joins on the safaris along with guests, almost ensuring tiger sighting.
6) With more than 25 years of experience and rich knowledge of the flora and fauna of Bandhavgarh, and patrolling activities, Mr. Talan is a dedicated and a well respected figure by the forest dept of Bandhavgarh. This gives tourists a chance to interact and enrich their knowledge about Tigers.
Thank you for your time to read this manuscript. You may contact me for any logistical details.

I had stay at tala camp from 11th feb to 14th feb. The hospitality of the owner Mr. Deepak Talan & his family is wonderful. Food is delicious. Every time he booked safari for us in verious zones where we can see the mighty tiger. We have seen two times tiger. I must say if you are interested in Bandhavgarh tiger reserve please stay in Tala Camp. At night it will thrill to stay in jungle.
I visited along with my wife and little daughter. After the trip, I must say that the Bandavgarh trip was much better and one of the best only because we stayed at Roaring Salvan County. Mr Varun was a great host and we used to interact with other guests over the bonfire during dinner time or other meal times. Absence of Mobile network n internet let us stay close to nature. 2 out of three days we heard tiger growl right next to the resort. We had not booked the safari online but thanks to Mr Varun that he got it arranged and we sighted 3 tigers. That was wonderful. Food was tasty and homely. It was not only us but other guests who were leaving the resort thanked the staff for the Home Like atmosphere. The place is right inside the tiger zone and with lush trees. Rooms are wonderful with spacious balcony and washroom was huge and modern. Very good for couples for privacy, kids for play around and for elderly as well.
If in Bandavgarh again, it's gonna be Roaring Salvan again.
The abode, I say abode because it's a home away home hotel. The owner of the Tala Camp, Mr. Deepak Talan and his staff are very friendly and takes very good care about the guest. The property is located at a very serene place and you can feel every bit of the jungle....The cottages are neat and clean with excellent food...Apart this, Mr. Talan is a jungle lover and a well known naturalist which makes this hotel distinguished. My family enjoyed the two day stay at Tala Camp very much..
March 3-11/2017, total of 7-8 days, full of suspence, excitement, warm Indian hospitality with sumptous indian food streaming out of the kitchen and enjoy with friendly people who add a personal touch. Thsis is how I felt and thoroughly enjoyed the place, TALA CAMP at Bandhavgarh NP, Madhya Pradesh.
Yes, TALA CAMP is an excellent place in my rating because I am not looking for luxury in places like Bandhavgarh jungles where I went to see and enjoy the forest and Tigers. It is the rustic charm and warmth of the place and people is what attracts me. Hence, excellent!!! If you are looking for a five star place, and impersonal places, there are many out there. Actually, TALA CAMP offers much more than just plain simple vanilla accommodation. There are a total of 6 large, double bed rooms with A/C, a western style bathroom with running hot and cold water. The enveloping verandah is the highlight of the camp, where you can sit and read a book, sip your tea, coffee or anything you like, with friends and family, enjoying the dawn and the dusk of Indian forests with bird orchestra thrown in for free. The main feature of the building is the colonial style construction. After a long day, having done 2 safaris one really looks forward to relaxing with friends. Evenings are always enjoyable in places like these where it is open all around with beautyful skies, and a bit of nip in the air, in front of the camp fire with Mr. Deepak Talan, the owner of Tala Camp, a naturalist, a conservationist and an author of the book, " BANDHAVGARH, the tiger country".
Mr. Talan and his family live right there on site in a separate small building. As a result they are much more appreciative of the needs of the guests, which are attended to, quickly. It is interesting to talk to him and learn about the tigers, their secretive families, lives and habits including petrolling done by the team to prevent poaching, etc. This you will not get in the 5 stars.
Thank you for your time for reading this review. If you do visit TALA CAMP, I hope you like it as much as I did. For my next trip to Bandhavgarh, I am relieved that I do not have to look and search for accommodation.
