in the lap of nature in the lap of nature

by mmonty_sharmaa on January 11, 2017

I visited Bandhavgarh in November to cover the jungle safaris in the national park and stayed at The Wildflower resort. I had a great time visting this beautiful resort. Nestled near the dense forest of Bandhavgarh, it was like living in the lap of nature. The resort has cottages housing different types of rooms and suites. We stayed at the suite cottage. The rooms are very clean and furnished tastefully. The restaurant serves multi-cuisine buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was just awesome. The buffets offer adequate variety and options. After the safaris we would be welcomed by the staff the gate of the resort with warm towels and drinks. Every single staff member is so courteous and helpful. A special thanks to Dinesh for the early morning 5 am tea served in my cottage. In short the property is Heaven for nature lovers! I enjoyed the hospitality and special attention given by the staff. I am sure this experience will stay with me forever.

Exceptional Hospitality and Services! Exceptional Hospitality and Services!

It was a superb experience for us. Staying at The Wildflower felt like staying at a place you own and are not just a visitor. The entire staff is very very hospitable. The owner Avinash Ji takes care of each one of the guest personally and so does the entire fleet of staff. The rooms are a fantastic mix of rustic and modern decor, luxurious and well appointed. We woke up to the melodious chirping of birds. Nothing could have been more blissful than staying at such serene surroundings. The food is simply superb, and despite of a sumptuous spread we were always asked if we would prefer something additional over and above the menu of the day. Every wish expressed came back with a smiling "Sure Madam'. Nature walk with the naturalist was very enriching. The safaris were awesome...sighted 5 tigers in Tala zone. The price that we paid for this wonderful experience was dime a dozen..a real steal I would say.

Dreadful stay.. Dreadful stay..

The property itself is ok but with poor maintenance.. We had our reservation online but the person at reception was not properly informed. The rooms were good but the AC kept malfunctioning and it being the monsoons made it pretty uncomfortable. The food spread is limited, tastes good but the restaurant is open air which is a big mistake in a jungle setting as it is swarmed by insects.. We grabbed the food and rushed back to our rooms.. I really had expected more from this place after the telephonic and online queries.. But disappointed.. The only silver lining was that we spotted a tiger which sort of made our trip worthwhile..

We stayed at this top class resort in November during our Bandhavgarh tour. Every staff here deserves an applause. The service is just fantastic with no complaints whatsoever. We enjoyed our every minute spent here. They just do not have the word No in their dictionary. We had jeep safaris with their naturalist Himanshu, who was like an encyclopedia of wildlife. Went for a nature walk with the security guard as both the naturalists were on safari with other guests and even he knew all about the forest and its ecology. They didn't mind serving us at 11.30 pm over the bonfire. The kitchen seemed like as if they are on duty 24 hrs. The food was simply fantastic. The rooms and ambiance was great as well but the best part was how the staff at Wildflower pampered and cared for us. I am not a reviewer or shared travel experiences publicly before, but this time not doing so would have been too selfish. Thank you Mahendra ji, Himanshu, Rajendra, Chotey lal, Shri and most importantly the chef (I'm sorry... I don't remember your name!!) and all others for giving us a wonderful holiday. We are going to be a regular at The Wildflower for sure!!!
