Although some may not find the location of the hotel to be ideal but to a business traveler like me having the hotel close to the highway and adjacent to a mall is what worked for me. Good food and huge luxurious rooms. Recommended for all looking for luxurious stay at a reasonable price!
I was not expecting to be such a lavish stay. Its one of the most premium properties of Sarovar Portico, across the nation. Rooms were super spacious and ambiance was also great. Nevertheless food will make your palate fall in love with it. Over all a great experience !!!
One request, please tell your staff (at top floor, near swimming pool) to behave with Indian Customers, the way they treat with foreign customers. Customers are customers, whether they are Indians or Foreigners.
Neat and tidy, takes care of customers to the utmost satisfaction. Great going. It gives the customers most satisfied stay in the hotel, Quality of food and service pattern is WOW. New commers can have a glimpse of Bangalore/Madiwala location very clearly by viewing from the top floor
Stayed in Davanam Sarovar during my visit to Bangalore in October. The hotel is more like a hotel apartment, and the rooms are large sized, studio type with a living space, a study separated by a partition from the main bedroom. Thoughtfully designed, the room allows for the bathroom to be accessed from both the living room and more privately from the bedroom.
The reception is on the 4th floor, as the ground floor-plate is shared with a mall, which I thought was an interesting idea. We had a room on the 6th floor, and the room was spacious, and well decorated, with a kitchenette and two televisions, meeting or exceeding the standards of an executive suite.
The breakfast was good, but lacked international cuisine. Fruits, cereals were limited, perhaps most of the guests are from the Indian subcontinent.
The internet was slow, and the WiFi password is not provided at check-in, but is sent by an sms. A very dated system. Internet is slow, and sometimes doesn't work at all. Another issue I noted was the fact that electricity seems to go frequently and the back up is slow, so there are frequent outages that disturb when working.
The other major issue is the traffic. The hotel is right on the busy intersection of Hosur and Madivalla road, and the traffic on Hosur road is continuous throughout the night. Make sure you avoid a room facing Hosur road unless you wish to experience a sensation of sleeping in the middle of traffic.
All said, the package is a mix of good, and could be better.
Reviewing a place like davanam portico is trying to think on how many positives to put in a review so as to be fair to the resplendent name they have carved for themselves in the hospitality scenery of Bangalore and elsewhere. We reached at about 8:00 am and checked in and were given a free upgrade to a luxury suite. Point to be noted. It was a luxury suite in every sense of the word luxury. The front desk also went out of their way to help us plan our trip of Bangalore and outskirts. The location is adjacent to a mall and at a busy traffic intersection but the rooms are absolutely cut off from the noise. The bed and bath furnishings are modern and clean. The bathrooms are big and spacious. The housekeeping staff is prompt to the extent that after a while it seems as though a member of the staff is posted right outside the door to address your needs.
The wifi however was a bit iffy and was bit unstable. However, upon telling them they took care of it in as good a manner as anything else. The breakfast spread was varied and fulfilling and high on the taste ground as well.
This place is truly a wise mix of business and pleasure hotels.
My best to the management and staff.
