Visited the resort , 2 night stay for college reunion. Great vast beautiful place. Excellent tasty food. Old resort, but clean. Swimming pool is vast. Arrangements for our programme were excellent. Away from Bangalore, difficult reaching the place as no good sign boards on the way.
Pros A very playable course in Bangalore.. many experienced caddies, but the good ones will generally expect a higher tip for their "advice". Greens are well maintained. An enjoyable day.. Cons Expect a long long drive from and through town area.. worse if it's on weekdays..(about 21/2 hours from airport) Expect also to pay bar prices for your beers..
A full fledged 18 hole golf course just outside Bangalore with great recreation facilities. Sounded like a perfect venue for a weekend conference. The stay options here are either the deluxe rooms or the executive suites, the tariff of which varies by 1000 bucks. We stayed at the suite which was reasonably spacious but quite jaded, the furniture was outdated, linen quality was very average and the room didn't seem luxurious at all. We proceeded for our conference and had to undergo 2 buffets, both for lunch and dinner. While the taste of the food was just about ok, the service was pathetic. Rotis were constantly out of stock and they seemed to have very poor co-ordination between the service staff and the kitchen as dishes kept getting over repeatedly. Desserts were 50% exhausted half way into the meal and they never got refilled. Same with the breakfast buffet as well, so quite let down by the service standards and food quality here. Apart from that, the facilities were good in terms of the recreation like the pool, the indoor badminton and squash courts, the t.t, foosball and billiards tables etc. They have an in-house ATM by the lobby and there was no queue for withdrawals, Hurrah :-) Overall I felt this was not great value for money and they need to up their game to compete with other resorts in the city.
My wife and I attended a three week yoga and meditation program nearby and were bussed each day to the ashram from Eagleton Golf resort. Our room at Eagleton was very spacious with a very comfortable king-size bed. Since the program ran 18-20 hours per day, we did little more than sleep at Eagleton. However, maid service was superb and laundry service was excellent and prompt. The front desk was responsive to the few requests we had; notably replacing our electric teakettle which stopped working. The 2 two liter bottles of spring water each day were much appreciated.
By far the one and the only Golf resort in Bengaluru. Placed in the out skirts of Bengaluru in a calm and serene environment off-Mysore road. Excellent lobby, spacious rooms and a large golf course. This resort also offers great business meetings with a small course on Golf for the participants. Has a wonderful restaurant and a swimming pool inside, offers great varieties for a peaceful family vacation.
