My stay was good no doubt, but there was one thing i got really offended about. When there are no requests for the room to be done the following morning, the staff should respect it. They did the opposite. We found our room done perfectly, clothes kept on the chair, our closets unlocked and pillows neatly arranged. We did not ask for it. Respect privacy. This was one thing for which i would never book this hotel again.
Not to mention the AC was not working, and couple other minor glitches.
The apartments are located at a very peaceful location and the rooms are really cozy and good. Value for money spent and good shops and malls not too far away from here. Worth coming and staying here rather than a hotel!!
The highlight of the place is the food. Especially the South Indian breakfast.
The rooms are large and have a separate living and bedroom area.
The only thing is that the level of maintenance is sub optimal and you will see something or the other not working.
But for the price the size of room and quality of food is amazing
First offs, this is a service apartment not hotel, so (a) the rooms are larger than hotels that are similarly priced (eg, Ginger) (b) the staff is more skeletal (c) it lacks facilities like a gym (it's there on paper, but when I went the treadmill didn't work, had been folded away, the Manager claimed no one had complained - well, I did; hey, if she just took a round, she'd have seen for herself). I stayed twice. The fridge didn't work too well and the first time was so hot that I was actually nervous in case it caught fire. The space is probably the best thing about Maia Beacon - rooms are almost like a 1 BHK, nicely demarcated into sitting cum cooking area and sleeping space. So visitors are isolated from personal stuff, which is good if u want to have a colleague or client over for a work session. The bathroom can be a nasty surprise - in the regular rooms, there's barely enough space to turn. The work table is flimsy and both times I saw a bed bug on it. The beds though, seemed clean and was comfortable. The safes don't work. I cld do with more plug points (iLodge is way better in that aspect). WiFi works for the most part. Door passcards don't always (my 2nd visit, they gave a key). You get a newspaper (unlike iLodge). Breakfast is not the reason u'd stay here. On my 2nd visit, there were major issues over linen - the towels were torn, had lipstick stains (see pic), the staff kept insisting "it's OK", and instead of simply apologizing and changing it, the Manager said I was always complaining and should go stay elsewhere. Locationwise, the place was not so easy to find, but that might just be the driver I had.
I booked into Maia Beacon spontaniously on Christmas Evening after a bad hotel experience the night before. And I was glad I did so.
The entire staff is very helpful and goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Even if their kitchen is not open, they send people out to get exactly the food that you would like. Amazing! Very safe, also for women traveling alone.
The location is excellent with restaurants, cafes and shops not far away. It is also fairly quite, so you can focus on working in the rooms.
The only negative point was that the sheets looked slightly dirty which was a bit off-putting. Especially for such a high price (not sure why people say it's a budget hotel?!). The couch could also do with a proper cleaning programm. Also, the building could surely use some repair attention on some parts. However, I had a great stay and will surely recommend it. The hotel is surely high above the average standards.
