The Sterling Mac Hotel is located on one of the busiest road in Bangalore. If you have work around the old airport road, this is a great location. However, if you need to travel around, this is one of the worst place to stay in terms of traffic. The traffic is always a mess and it will take you hours to get out of the old airport area during peak office timings. Taxis and Autos will drop / pick you up at a good distance away to avoid getting stuck in the traffic. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with all the regular amenities - LCD TV, Coffee Maker, Mini Bar, Safe, Wardrobes, usual toiletries etc. The hotel has a strange policy of no guests after 7 pm which is a bummer since their lobby is neither spacious nor comfortable to attend to any visitors. The hotel interiors are very dark. Initially it appears quite attractive and chic but after a while it starts to feel depressing if you are used to sunshine and bright colors. The breakfast spread is huge, but the service and taste leaves much to desire. Overall, I would say that it is an okay hotel if you are traveling alone on business. For a family outing though, I will probably look for an alternate place to stay.

Before i jump onto my bad experience let me say ambience was good and it was clean place. But i didn't liked the breakfast, it was not complementary in my package. So i paid arnd 650 for a meal which was not so great. But what really pissed me off was hotel staff behaviour when a female friend of mine came to meet me. On her arrival, hotel staff called to my room asking for ID card which was fine. We gave her company ID card as that was the only ID she was having. But Hotel staff was not happy and then followed series of calls asking for a Govt. ID with address else she would be asked to leave. It created a very chaotic atmosphere and i requested them that we didn't knew that it was needed and company ID should be accepted. It was sooo badly handled that we decided to go out. I did caught up with manager and told him exactly how i felt and it was embarrassing the way he handled the situation. Either they should clearly specify this policy of Govt. ID on booking or should understand that people don't walk around carrying Govt. ID everywhere. It all felt like moral policing, making guests feel bad and handled in worst possible manner. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

It was my first dinner experience at this hotel and I should say it was very ordinary. I was not even attended to for a while and when I ordered Kerala Fish Curry with dosa, all I got were pieces of rubber in the curry. When enquired, I was told that it was Sears fish - yeah, so? The fish I think must have been in the frozen state for a long period. The curry was tasty though but what good is it without the FISH?

So we ended up staying here because of a flight cancellation, and these guys managed to change a horrible day into a good one! Although we were part of a large group of passengers, the hotel staff managed everything very seamlessly. From the moment we arrived right until the end of the journey they were very accomodating and helpful. Unlike the poorly managed airport facilities, they were quick to arrange a separate car for wheelchair passengers without asking weird/unnecessary questions or making the wheelchair users uncomfortable. I cannot comment on the room service as we never got a chance to find anything amiss in the room. The food was good with lots of variety and very courteous restaurant staff. Some bigger name companies should take a lesson from these guys on how to get customer service right (Radisson Blu, Oman Air I'm looking at you guys!). Its a pity that most of my trips to Bangalore revolve around Jayanagar which is quite far off, otherwise I would always book this place in a heartbeat! Highly recommended.

Greetings frome raksha, this is our first time 6th December visit we came ground flour restaurant some buddy send us up once we entered restaurant it was empty we thought its a bore but we just comfortable beginning and we don't have any idea about Arabian food but your waiter mr.vidyan guide us very pretty what we need and excellent recommendation also hi didn't chance to made us bore and food its different us but tasty help full service we got from vidyan between manager came and spoke to us sorry i forgot his name totally vidyan hi has good manner waiter and thanks for your kitchen and total team
