This is out and out a service apartment. They have 1 BHK and 2 BHK apartments with all amenities like Gas & Stove, Microwave, basic utensils, fridge, Aircon, Washing Machine and Geyser. The location might be a little tricky for people who go newly as it is a little way off from the city but for people have working in this part of the town, this is a good option. They offer monthly and daily rentals too and comparing Bangalore standards, the prices are very decent for the facilities provided.
They have a very basic man power infrastructure and try and service with that, which I didn't find more wanting. The hose keeping is done on a daily basis and towels changed every 3 days and the bed linens changed every week. The rooms are decent and clean. This place is very ideal for long stay. I was in this place for 5 months and would not complain.
Tranist home stay has 4 properties in an around Bangalore, very economically priced for long term stays. I had booked this place for a month and had to extend it for another month and got a good rate of INR 20,000/- plus 4 % tax totaling to INR 20,800.00 with an excellent wireless internet facilities, average housekeeping facilities.
The Room: The room was an Executive Room A/c room in a 2 BHK apartment with attached bathroom with 24hrs hot and cold shower, big furnished apartment. The apartment is equipment with basic amenities, fridge, washing machine, TV, cable, internet with backup power inverters (as power does go) but the lights, fan and electrical points work on these power inverters for couple of hours.
Location/Vicinity: The property that I booked was in an area in the Hosur Road, Singsandhara, is approx 7 to 10 km from the nearest town Koramangala, other places like Madiwala are near by. This town has all the banks, Food malls, Restaurants and Bars and other shops. Places like MG Road, Infantry Rd , Cubbon Rd etc is approx 16 to 20 km. As the hotel is on the main road, its well connected with Autos, local buses, private city cabs and the luxury Volvo buses to the city. The Airport is approx 60 km. So if you have an afternoon flight or evening flight ensure that you leave this place really early as the morning traffic can be a mayhem. Going to the city needs to be planned and you will need to leave early again due to the traffic congestions. To avoid the congestion either leave before 9am or after 12 noon, these are the hours when the congestion is low.
The Hotel is located in a quite area, and a bit inside from the main road, but be ready to be awaken at around 06:30 am sharp as there is a temple just next to it, and the payers will begin at that time. During the day at different times the temple prayers are offered. The surrounding area is quiet, in the evening after 7 pm. There are few engineering shops nearby and a logistics transportation company, so the whole day you will have sounds of welding, hammering and trucks loading and unloading.
The Staff and Management is really good, Mr. Murgesh the accommodation manager did his best to make my stay as comfortable as possible, but dont expect great deal of them, the service that they offer is modest like housekeeping (daily basic cleaning of the room, changing or sheets and blankets one a week), maintenance and room service (basic vegetarian meals are provided b/fast for INR 35, lunch and dinner INR 75/-), the food is good and prepared fresh daily. The place is well known by all the food delivery guys, so you can home delivery like Pizzas from Dominos, Pizza Hut, and KFC, besides that there are also local South Indian restaurants, but I am not sure on the hygiene aspect of these restaurants.
In conclusion, this property is good for people who are budget minded want to stay in Bangalore for longer period of time; dont mind travelling 16 to 25 km to the city, and have the patience to ride the traffic, pollution and the bad roads, a very good deal if you work is in and around Electronic City and Singsandhara area. If you can manage all this, Transit Home Stay-Hosur Road is your best deal, as a new comer to Bangalore I was a bit terrified to see the location of this place, and how far its from the city but all I can say that its an adventure and an experience!!!
