After multiple dropped new year plans went to this place finally to celebrate new year 2017 and it turned out to be a good decision. It's a small abode at walking distance from Bharatpur Bird sanctuary. It was a night well spent with family and friends with bon fire and folk music. There was a puppet show as well which was quite entertaining. A nice place to spend new year's eve followed by an early morning visit to the Bird sanctuary to catch glimpse of all different kind of flying travelers...good place to be..
We chose this place because it was within a short walk of the bird park , not having great expectations. We were pleasantly surprised by elegant comfy room with veranda and well kept pool and gardens. Evening fire was great for enjoying a beer .
So our only real disappointment is that we stayed here just 1 night. From the moment you are checked in you start to feel the charm of this place.
Our room, we had a ground floor garden facing room, was very spacious, with a small entrance hall, that led straight on to the large bathroom with its large walk in shower. Or to the right, was the large bedroom with a large comfy bed, sofa and chair with a table, two large bottles of water and two large windows making it a very light room. Outside our room was two chairs and a table where we could sit to enjoy tea made ourselves as the room also had a kettle.
The staff are all lovely and helpful. They had run our of gin and tonic, but not a problem, they would go to the market and hey presto G&T followed just 10 mins after the beer we ordered alongside it. Along with our complementary popadoms and roasted nuts.
There was a group staying at the hotel, so dinner was India buffet. Flavours and choice were great, with only one of the dishes being non-veg. We also had breakfast there in the morning, this was again Indian buffet, plus eggs cooked to your preference, as well as fruit, juice and toast.
Just two things would have enhanced our experience and something for the owners to consider. We would prefer to have an in room safe. Also, going to do the early morning bird watching, we left as advised at 6.30am, unfortunately breakfast closes at 9.30 so it meant we had to leave the park earlier, which was a shame.
Otherwise, a fantastic stay and would highly recommend.
Birders Inn is a nice little place, very near the Keoladeo National Park. The food and service is outstanding and very reasonably priced. The food was fresh and very well made. They have a nice out-door area, where one can enjoy a beer and a meal! Recommended.
This is one of the closest Hotels to the Park Entrance ( 200 metres ) and it is also one of the best. The rooms are very large and comfortable and the garden is a nice bonus to relax in on returning from the Park. The Wi-Fi works well and the food is excellent. If this is within your budget range then you won't be disappointed.
A few little tips that might help. If there is a group staying at the Birders Inn then get to Breakfast 20 minutes earlier than normal to ensure you are not late getting to the Park. The staff tend to fuss over the groups as they bring the main business on a regular basis. It's actually pretty cold first thing in the morning from November to February so bring a light fleece that can be discarded and easily carried after 9 am when it warms up. Bring water and snacks with you as the canteen inside the Park doesn't always open.
