An oasis of quiet and comfort, 5 minutes walk from national park An oasis of quiet and comfort, 5 minutes walk from national park

by SFPogo on January 18, 2017

We stayed here because it's very close (200m) to Keoladeo N.P. and because of its high reviews. It was a bit of a splurge, definitely not targeted at budget travelers, and worth every cent. The rooms were super-clean, large, comfortable, and QUIET, all by Western standards of those terms. The restaurant serves both Indian and Western food for breakfast and dinner (we didn't try lunch). Booking process was a breeze. A nightly campfire in the courtyard was a great setting for having drinks and meeting not only other travelers, but the owner himself, Tirath, who gave us wonderful service both during the booking process and during our stay. For our 2 day trips to the park, they loaned us birding field guides and packed box lunches. For our onward journey (we had made a last-minute change of plans) they helped us negotiate logistics of getting on to Agra. The national park itself is one of the best birding destinations we've ever been to, and this lovely hotel is (as you'll see) clearly head and shoulders above all the others in the area.

Very good place to stay. Very good place to stay.

The hotel location is very good. Its walking distance to Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary. Hotel rooms are very nice with good space and amenities (Neat and clean linens, excellent bathroom with all necessary toiletries, excellent room space). Staff is very helpful. Breakfast was great!

Another Great Stay Another Great Stay

by MeeraDass on January 16, 2017

After our last stay at the Birder's Inn we knew that we would visit again. It took us a long time, but in early December we planned a trip. Our correspondence with Shashank was friendly yet professional and this time we took another couple with us. We drove from Delhi and reached in 3 hours with one stop on the way. We reached in time for a hot lunch, warmly served. We were shown to our rooms and were pleasantly surprised. We had been upgraded to suites on the first floor. We were really comfortable. The rooms have kettles with tea and coffee and we enjoyed this since it was pretty cold. The afternoon foray into the bird park was lovely but the next morning the whole forest was enveloped in fog! That is a hazard of going in December. On the whole we had a super trip. It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Tirath Singh once again and he was so welcoming. I complimented him on the upgradations he has made to his rooms and the fantastic service from his staff who do not hang around waiting for tips. He obviously looks after them well. The idea of a tip box is a good one so that the tips get equally divided. Our friends were really happy that they had accompanied us. We will be going back! Meera and Rajeev Dass

Comfortable and pleasant! Comfortable and pleasant!

We stayed here one night on our Intrepid tour to visit bird sanctuary. This hotel has a very pleasant interior with a delightful garden courtyard area to sit and eat or have a drink. Food is good. Staff are very welcoming. Recommended!

What a find! What a find!

Our favourite place to stay on our recent Indian odyssey. The hospitality is warm and genuine with an absolutely dedicated manager and a dedicated ornithologist herself. She made us so so welcome on our arrival and radiates helpfulness. Both the owner and herself were constantly available and willing to give really good advice. All the staff were helpful with a smile I just loved the decor a mixture of colonial and Mughal and all done with great flair and immersed in a lovely garden.Food was delicious preceded by drinks and nibbles around a magic bonfire for those who wanted to mingle with other guests. And the picnic lunch provided for the all day park visit was equally delicious.Rooms are really comfortable with generous large bottles of water in contrast to the tiny bottles in 5 star hotels we recently visited For non ornithologists there are a wealth of attractions nearby but as a non birder myself I really recommend a visit to Keoladeo. It should not be missed and is a beacon of ecological excellence. An amazing achievement. And there is a no tipping policy at the Birders Inn. A gratuity can be left on departure for all staff to share. More hotels should adopt this policy..And car and driver can be arranged for excursions to nearby sights. And everything so reasonably priced. My husband is a very keen ornithologist and spent a tremendous day birding with the supremely expert guide Brijendra Singh who has unmatched knowledge of the birds plants and insects in the Park. He booked Mr Singh through The Birders Inn
