Even though we reached Bodhgaya by12noon of 4th Feb 14, The entry to the hotel was barred on security reason by police. I tried to reach both the hotel management and travelguru on their respective phones several times and waiting and pleading with police also did not work out .Dejected over no response from both hotel and travel guru I wasforced to return to Varanasi. It was such a bad experience. I did not expect such treatment from Travelguru. Ineed my refund and otherwise I need to take aleagal course

The rooms were average. The hot water bath was not functioning most of the time. The location of the hotel on Google map was incorrect. No wifi service available but it's mentioned that they provide wifi. Despite the breakfast was complementary, they don't have their own restaurant. So we can't have the breakfast for the 1st day in the hotel and only breads were given for 2nd day. The staffs were friendly.

This Hotel is horrible/ terrible and no words to explain. The pics showing on the website are not real. The hotel is in renovation, we went 14 members team. There is no restaurant/hotel water/no room boy. Suppose to give free breakfast, but there is no one to take care of the customers. There is no one checked in the hotel between 24sep to 4oct. I have entered my details in the register.

Avoid at all cost. Avoid at all cost.

This is without doubt the worst hotel i have ever been in. The level of dirt was staggering, the smells nauseating, and assistance from the staff, was non-existent. Insects were everywhere, the ceiling fans were encrusted with thick layers of black dust, and remnants of food was smeared on the walls, perhaps spilled ? But no efforts were made to clean it up, just as dirty plates and cutlery was left on stairs and landings. The linen was stained, for reasons i do not even want to think about. When complaints were made, the option was a can of airfreshner. This place i never want to see again.

Worst hotel ever Worst hotel ever

We arrived a large group late at night. It turned out to be a hotel of very low standart. Large amounts of waste under the stairs, old food smeared on the walls, the bedding was the opposite of clean and the bed blanket, I would never lay under it! Instead of cleaning the rooms, large amounts of chemicals were sprayed in the rooms, making it almost impossible to breathe. I have traveled many places in the world even under very primitive conditions, but have never been at a hotel with such an exeptional low standart. People slept in chairs and sofas all over and you was i doubt whether it was people from the streets. We moved the middle of the night to Hotel Heritage which was significantly better and even cheaper.

Comfortable beds away from the hassle Comfortable beds away from the hassle

We went to hotel Buddha because the hotel that we had booked had potato sacks as pillows, and we were looking for somewhere were we could get a good nights rest. Thankfully The pillows and beds at hotel buddha were very soft, which was the main thing. From the photo of the bathroom previously supplied on trip adviser, I think the bathrooms have since been updated, there are nice tiles, ect. When we were staying, the hotel seemed to be getting renovated, so it had a strange 'not yet ready' feeling. The best thing about the hotel was the balcony which opened up from our room (204), and the beautiful gardens. One minus was that whenever we tried to order food there was no cook, but it was still nice to have tea surrounded my lush greenery and the hotels dog (black lab) Jimmy. Other setbacks were that the tv and wifi didn't work, however it says something for the kindness of the staff that we were offered a laptop and wireless network whenever we needed it. The location of the hotel makes you feel like you've got a retreat from the hassle of bodh Gaya, however the neighbouring stray dogs barking at night lost half the benefit of being away from the hectic noisier parts of the city. We paid 2100rs, for our room, and for this price we were very happy with the hotel. Hot water was also delicious, and available at all hours.
