This hotel is 19 months old and is spacious and rooms are clean and hygienic. However it has one of the worst breakfast you can imagine in an upscale (so called) hotel and the interiors are (seems) done by unprofessional. It is too pricey. I mean they are charging Rs 5000 + for a night for such a property for which the price should be around Rs 2500/- night. The access road to the hotel is horrible and the staff is still learning to be courteous.
It has been 2 months since my stay here and I am still dealing with the nightmare management of this hotel! I will start at the beginning. From check-in, I was treated with disregard and indifference with the man behind the desk giving me looks of disdain instead of answering my queries, which seemed to be due to me being female. One of the forms that I had to sign did not even let me sign as myself, but I rather had to sign as someone's wife or daughter. What century are you people living in??? The management at the restaurant was just as unaccommodating, as despite the restaurants (which are right next to each other) being empty, they did not allow my Father, who was dining from the buffet restaurant, to sit with us if we dined in the a la carte restaurant. Their server also proceeded to touch actual my food with his hands when it arrived, I was shocked that I had to so profusely tell him to stop touching my food. When leaving, we asked 4 different people for the bill and after waiting 30 minutes, they only presented it once we got up to leave. We stayed here for 2 nights and on the 1st morning, we sent in some of our clothes for laundry. These items were returned in the evening. The next morning, we had to leave at 6am, but upon arriving downstairs to check out, the lobby was in darkness and the man that was supposed to be attending to the front desk was fast asleep. Keep in mind that this is a large hotel (large enough that it is a convention centre) so this should not be expected. A few days after checking out we received an email from this hotel saying that they forgot to add the laundry to our bill (much like their behaviour over the bill at the restaurant), despite the fact that they had 24 hours in which to add this charge to our room. They requested that we pay it and failing to do this, they will take it out of their employees wages. How is it fair that they laundry employees get punished for utterly poor management?? Nevertheless, we have endeavoured to pay this bill. The bank that this hotel uses is not recognised by our bank's Internet banking, nor does our local branch transfer to it. We have had to travel to a branch much further away, and pay a charge equal to the amount of the bill, above and beyond the bill, in order to do the payment. The branch also only does this payment on 2 specific days of the week. Despite all of this inconvenience and additional charges to us, we still wanted to pay it so that the employees did not suffer. The bank however requires information from the hotel. After dozens and dozens of emails to this hotel, I still cannot get simple information such as the physical address of their bank branch, instead they keep sending me emails with the name rather than the address, or with the PO Box address. They also take very long to reply and as I said, our bank only does these payments on 2 days a week. I have reached my wits end with these people, as it has now been 2 months and they still cannot give me simple information despite greatly inconveniencing us by us investigating and implementing a way to do the payment. To top it off, I am constantly referred to as "Sir" in their emails despite them seeing that I was female through their looks of disdain! If they forgot, they should do the polite neutral norm of saying Sir/Madam or leaving out a title at all. Room amenities were about as close to our Western standards as you will get in Gaya, but the management really needs to be changed.
Excellently located lavish hotel near to bodh Gaya. Newly built with all modern facility. However the staff at reception is poorly behaved and contended. The manager at reception and in the restaurant are indifferent and impressing the staff under them rather than interacting with the customer. Restaurant bhojan is excellent but breakfast is poor
Ohh so bad I cant even begin to describe it. The staff and especially the manager of this hotel are downright useless bunch with no sense of and passion towards customer hospitality. Not recommended. The manager was rude and clearly didn't know how to manage customer.
The hotel is new and quite impressive. Large rooms, great bathrooms impressive showers. Large pool and gym if that floats your boat.
On the down side, 8 kms away from tourist spots down a long gravel road. Once you are in the hotel you can forget about walking anywhere.
We just had a fabulous day at Kalachakra which was let down by the restaurant here. It took 20+ minutes to take our order and more than an hour for the food to arrive. In that time we saw one man walk out, he asked for his meal three times without spice and it each time they made it with chillies .
To our right, a lady complained about her meal also, in fact the restaurant was a buzz with complaints. One waiter who spoke English and I think if you didn't point at the meal on the menu you were up for a lucky dip.
I complained about the food and the terrible service but I wasted my time it was lost in translation.
Other than that the hotel is ok (just eat out!)
