Whether you are a history buff or a photographer or just a tourist,Raobagh Palace is a destination i would highly recommend to the traveller who is searching for an unforgettable experience,a hidden treasure, off the beaten path, amidst the granite hills of Bundelkhand. The Royals have retained its character, without pretention. The interiors are filled with Art Deco pieces & impressive portraits of ancestors. None of this would be complete without the hands on gracious hospitality & humour of Maharaja Jayant Singh Judeo , & his lovely Maharani Urmila, My daughter & i were made to feel very welcome & comfortable, an experience we will always treasure. The palace rooftop overlooks the rural hamlet of Charkhari,& is a great perch for the lensman. Our meals were generous & flavourful & an afternoon siesta was a perfectly civilized way to beat the heat. Khajuraho airport, where you would arrive, is just under 2 hours picturesqe drive from Raobagh Palace. The most exquisite 12th century Khajuraho temple complex best known for its erotic scenes competes with wonders of the world. . If you want to catch a glimpse of 'vanishing' India of yester- years, it doesn;t get any better !
