NICOLA from Bundi, India recommends this hotel Posted:  Room Quality: 4/5 Service Quality: 5/5 Dining Quality: 5/5 Cleanliness: 3/5

The hotel is very nice, clean and the restaurant is great. The chief cook is great and is a very nice lady, after she cooked our dinner she stayied with us chatting, was very nice to us. The room is quite large, but there is a problem with sunlight. After sunset you don't have to turn lights off, otherwise a horde of little black bugs comes in ...i had to change room in the heart of the night and turn off every light.

Please - but please- do not book here for any full-moon night. Then the management have "kirtans" from 3 pm to 7 pm at about 300 decibels - enough to blow you off your bed, feet, or whatever. They have positioned it as "Tourist Paying Guest Facility" - that is, it is primarily a residence hiring out rooms just to earn some loose change. The grim-visaged, taciturn owner gives it to you on a "take it or leave it" basis". The kitchen help is on contract and comes in at 8.30 am and needs two hours prior notice for lunch or dinner (strictly vegetarian - no eggs), and goes off at 8.30 pm. But the rooms are clean and tidy even if the dining area is quite tatty. The geyser actually works.

A budget guest house in Bundi. The Old man is really asking so many questions and some time it is too much. They negociate too much even for me they took half an hour to tell me price. They looks everyone too suspecious. Otherwise it is quite good budget place to stay. You can get an A/C room around 800-1000 rupees depend on your barganing power. Wishes!!!

As a regular guest at Annpurna Haveli I must say I was surprised to read the two previous negative reviews of this wonderful little hotel. All of my visits to Annapurna have been very enjoyable. The host Mr Puri and his family have always treated me with respect and courtesy and I have never felt pressured into availing of any of the many services provided by the hotel. When having to catch a late train when leaving Mr Puri has always been very accommodating and understanding. The hotel is in a wonderful quiet location overlooking the lake with delicious home cooked food lovingly prepared by the charming Anita. I have already reviewed this hotel but having read the two previous negative reviews I felt compelled to set the record straight

Awful customer service Awful customer service

by Lara C on March 24, 2015

Our few days in Bundi was unfortunatly ruined by the customer service that we recieved at Annpurna guesthouse. The host lacked the common sense needed to run a good hotel and we were forced into spending money that we feel we did need to spend. From the moment we got there, we were pressured into using all the services that the guesthouse provided, and found it incredibly difficuilt to refuse these for fear of upsetting our hosts. Upon checking out, we were informed that we were two hours late (despite not being told of the actual check out time) and would have to pay for an extra night. Of course we tried to refuse this, and the host proceeded to insult and intimidate us by calling us babies and beggers, and even threatened to call the police if we did not pay. We were then also charged for bottles of water that we had not purchased. I would not recommend this guesthouse to anyone, and would certainly never stay there again. I have never been so ridiculed and intimidated in my life. Our experience totally overshadowed the beautiful town of Bundi.

Like staying with grump grandparents Like staying with grump grandparents

by Sharni W on March 24, 2015

The place was empty, the 'free wifi' was only available in the reception which was awkward as that was were the 4 owners sat and talked. The rooftop and rsstuaraunt were locked and we were told it was out of use. They swarmed us with buying lunch, dinner and breakfast and after politely refussing their attitudes turned. We didnt want heena nor a massage or to use their driver as we had arranged our own already. They became un-welcoming, It was like staying with over protective grumpy grandparents. Constantly being told 'its not possible' when we tried to explain what we had planned for the day, then to have an awkward 10 minute discussion about why we should use them. It felt like house arrest we tried our hardest to stay away from the place until we were resdy to sleep. thankfully bundi is full of amazing rooftop cafes where that was possible. Awkard!!!
