Difficult to rate this hotel, partly because there are limited options in Bundi with which to compare it, and partly because it is good in some respects and less so in others.
The rooms appear to be variable - the suites are very spacious indeed. Some which face the main road outside suffer from street noise and the barking of stray dogs. However, all are well-kept; the lift is surprisingly modern.
The restaurant, to be generous, would not win any prizes. The buffet dinner was very uninspiring, and we were glad to have chosen to eat from the a la carte menu, which was slightly better, and reasonably priced. Breakfast was also unexciting, but just about covered basic requirements.
The reception area is cavernous and would benefit from a refit to make it more welcoming. In summary, there is nothing seriously wrong here, and there would certainly be worse places to stay in Bundi, but equally there is nothing which would encourage mne to extend my stay here - a single night is ample.
This is a modern hotel in the guise of a traditional Rajasthani haveli. Its impossible to make out which, if any, parts are old. My take - its a new building with some antique cars and odds-and-ends to give it an old feel. The rooms are not old by any stretch of imagination. Mine needed fresh paint as one wall had marks from where water must have come in, and shoes marks on another wall.
The toiletries are so-so. I'd expected better quality at the price.
That said, the room was clean and did not smell of anything offensive. It was spacious and had a fridge and tea maker. The TV that was an old 21 inch model was a disappointment as were the channels available. But then, you arent going to Bundi to watch TV.
You need to ask for a room that overlooks their lawn. Mine didnt and instead I was a treated to a view of an ugle building being made behind the hotel.
Breakfast is monotonous. On my three days there, I had a choice of the same menu all three days. Familiarity bred contempt. I improvised and got by but the management can vary the menu without much ado.
Its good for a night or two. More than that and Bundi gets boring.
Good Hotel to stay rather than any 3 star Hotel in Bundi.
There are hotels but in Bundi this is the far better than any. So don't think go for it only Two Hotels are nice in Bundi and this is one of them.
So I gave the rating compare to other options and also the Hotel. Don't think too much Just go for it. U have no choice.
As per our yearly get together we selected Bundi as our new destination. No body in our relations knew about existence of Bundi,we selected from internet for sightseeing as well as get together of 22 person all cousins from all phase of business. hotel the Hadoti palace was selected from net only and nobody repented. Every staff member from security, bell boy to manager level all were very friendly and courteous. Hotel was clean, all rooms were big and comfortable. Food serve was of good quality. We were senior citizens some with jain food ,some eating less spicy, some had allergy to certain food but Chef and kitchen staff made all type of food as per our comfort.
Room 303 to 306 has best view but any room does not make any difference.
One of the family member birthday was celebrated and management gave us their conference hall for celebration and for enjoying games etc without any extra charge.
Swimming pool was clean and 4ft. deep , hence we all could enjoy though many did not know swimming. Filtration and cleaning was done from morning till evening.
They also helped us and guide us for sightseeing hiring guide at reasonable rates.
Last day on our way to Kota they even helped us book good restaurant for lunch.
Management offered us free show in theater owned by them but we thanked and refused as we had come for enjoyment.
to summarize our tour for who want to visit Bundi
WE 22 family cousins of age 55 to 73 years started by DUrranto for Delhi by train on Friday night 11p.m. We reached Kota 10.30 a.m. ,breakfast on train was included in ticket and of good quality (cutlets,om-late, bread butter with tea coffee ).
We had booked air conditioner bus from Kota to Bundi by Shrinathji Travels , road were in bad shape ,it took 1-1.25 hrs to reach but bus as well as driver was very good.
Shrinathji Travels was booked from internet, they did not take any advance but gave us best service for our bus travel on day 1 and day 3, they deserve also five star as service and courteousy.
At hotel we were welcomed with cold drinks and smile by management, All management staff was courteous, We do not want to name any one as all were helpful. We had taken bus for day 1 and day 3 hence we need to rush for our sightseeing hence we were told to get fresh up as our food was ready. Our luggage was taken to room .Every person was given filtered water bottle in room for each day we stayed.
Food was very good, we started for Bhimlat fall , it was about one and half hour from hotel due to bad road condition. Fall was good (actually our advice for anyone going will be to do this considering whole day and avoiding rainy season as there are rock painting caves worth seeing near fall which require about 2-3 km walk, take guide Mr. Kukki specially for it) but we were late in evening . We spent 2 hrs going down from road, there are about 300 steps but comfortable. After coming back and rest
dinner was good. We have to say that all the menu for lunch or dinner were different, nothing was repeated and less oily, less spicy.
Next day management hired us guide to show all historical sights in BUndi, We started by ( a.m. and came back by 1.30 p.m. We had hired Riksha carrying 5 person each. Taragarh fort, Chitrashala were excellent. other place we show Raniji ki bari, Sukh Mahal,84 Pillared cenotaph,Nawal Sagar lake,Jait Sagar Lake.
In afternoon and evening we enjoyed swimming pool and played games etc. in conference room given by management.
Day 3 we enjoye morning swimming pool and table tennis, carom , chess etc. by 11 we started with thanks to managemnet back to Kota. Tips to all staff was common which was really welcomed.
In Kota we visited seven wonder replica created at lake side, it was good had lunch at Surya royal- food was good menu set by Hadoti palace different than we had at their hotel , said goodbye to Kota-Bundi and left by Lucknow Bandra train by 3 p.m.
Service on this train was quite different than Durranto train. On the way we had Pizza at Ratlam timely delivered by Domino's, we thank them to give us service on our call and delivering in right time with hot pizza and garlic breads. Next day morning 7 a.m. we reached Bandra and departed with heavy heart looking forward to next year get together and courteous y of HOTEL THE HADOTI PALACE .
Worst food. They served us tomato soup and it felt like we are having soup which is served in Indain raliways. Staff don't understand what guest is asking. Worst hospitality. It's not at all worth to stay here. Only they have vintage cars and bike to show. Otherwise they don't care for guest.
Before making booking do pls check the details with them.
