Renai kappad beach resort

Kappad Beach resort is a short 40 minute drive away from Calicut Railway station and a good hour or more, depending on traffic, from Calicut International airport. The best thing about the resort is that it is just across from the main public beach and you can watch the sunset from your rooms. Staff were nice and helpful and breakfast had a decent spread. Food otherwise was alright. Rooms were nice and cozy though quite dated. WiFi was spotty and there was no phone reception in the room. And you had to wait for quite some time before you got any hot water trickle from the shower. The biggest issue was communication. They had initially agreed to upgrading our room to the upper sea facing room in the newer block but then refused to do so without paying extra. When I raised this with their customer service, I received no response, which I thought was quite poor. Breakfast starts at 7:30am and on one of the days when I went in early and asked for black tea, instead of just telling me that they were not ready, one of the staff mentioned that they would have to charge for serving before 7:30am, which was just plain disappointing. They need to take their cue from other resorts who go out of their way to prepare breakfast take-outs when guests head early for tours or departure! Their transfer to the airport, though at a charge, was quite nice thanks to a joyful driver, who was on time even though it was quite early. Since there is not much to do around the area, this resort is best for folks looking for a romantic getaway or a relaxing time.

We have been here for 13 nights & initially we wondered if that would be too long. We now wish we were here longer! We were in room 404, one of the newer and more modern rooms. It has the best sea views & a couple of days we've watched dolphins play for hours from our spacious balcony. Above all are the wonderful staff..everyone from Reception, restaurant staff and housekeeping. Always smiling & keen to make sure our stay was perfect. We have a late flight & they let us have a late check out which we really really appreciated. There is not much to do in the immediate area but we were more than happy with this as we wanted the first 2 weeks of our month trip to be relaxing. Theres a beautiful large pool and the beach (uncrowded) on your doorstep. Theres a bar within the grounds that sell beer and wine (the wine wasnt great) & initially can be intimidating for a woman to go in there..its not common. However, the beer was cold, cheap and we met some great people there. All in all, we've had a great stay here and will miss the serenity and beauty. Thank you to you all

It is a fantastic place for leisure travel.Rooms are sea view.Beach is just across the hotel.Rooms are neat and clean.Food in restaurant is very good.Nice staff.Overall the experience us very good and relaxing

An ideal location for a complete family meet. Our family meet was on 25/26 of December and we booked the complete resort for all of us. A total number of 80 guests working at various locations all over were present and everyone equally enjoyed. The food that we selected was served and it was absolutely flawless. All of us are still talking about the enjoyment and the good time we had. The staff under the leadership of Mr Ramesh was great and they were absolutely dedicated in serving the guests. We have no hesitation in recommending Renai Kappad Resorts to anyone who are looking for a good break near sea side with all family atmosphere. The place is great. We stayed at kappad beach resort in the month of October...our choice was beach facing premium room...stay was good...food was ok...staff ..lacking professionalism ...beautiful view of beach...got some good pics of birds too...
