Staff were fine, but no more than an average hotel. Maybe because of the price they are offering. In the morning at 7 am cleaner coming and knocking the door while you want to stay on the bed without any disturbance. Bath/toilet is somehow good to do your work. 21" CRT TV with troubled satellite channels! Transport and hotels are a bit more than average as this is a hospital city. We get unfairly charged by them. No option- either Live or Leave!

This hotel is located rather close to the station. Might be a tough walk if you have luggage given Chennai's weather and traffic, but auto should take you at a minimum price. There are a few other hotels in the same area, and I would expect them to be similar in terms of price range and quality. The NON-AC room looked reasonably clean and I would be have satisfied otherwise, but the case of bed bugs was a big turn off. I had small boils on my forehead after a few hours on the bed. Not painful, but spoke of the lack of standards at this place. Maybe I should have put more money upfront from a better hotel. Also the receptionist likely cheated me into booking a double room, when I actually needed only a single. I had specifically confirmed on the phone about the availability, but upon arrival I am told that only a double is available. That speaks of lack of professionalism. If you are unaware, you'll get no service at most hotels at such a price range. So that shouldn't surprise you. You've basically got a room and are on your own. You won't get any towels, toiletries, blanket, hot water or anything else. All in all if you can spend more, please do and stay away from this place!

I stay for 2 Night but, found very first day that bath room is not up to date for taking bath. shower was not working. Towel provided was short (for kids) and not able to use by my son. No other Towel was given even after demanding it. We want to check out at morning and wanted to have a Breakfast but, not available at 8 am too. Restaurant was not opened till 8 am. what is the use of having restaurant in HOTEL? If you want to stay near Railway and having low budget then USE it else find some one better.

We 3 ( me, my wife and 3.5 year old kid) started our Chennai trip by staying at Hotel shriram. Here i'm posting real life inside picture of our room (Non A/c Standard room - was pre booked online for Rs 550 ) Also share good and bad things which we noted by staying for a night. As we arrived at Chennai central railway station around 10 am, we just tried to book pre-paid Auto rickshaw (tuk tuk) at pre paid counter which was just outside railway station, standing there in queue for 15-20 minutes. when it time to book rickshaw, the counter man just showed me the route to goto the hotel. And said rickshaw cannot be booked for this hotel as it is near by. Hardest part is reaching hotel with a kid and bag walking between heavy Chennai morning traffic. Hotel was just Opposite hotel royal regency, by entering gali (lane) next to hotel Golden Tower. In 10-15 minutes we reached hotel. Check-in took another 10 minutes. We have given room number 202. First I'll tell you negative points about hotel and room: 1] No towels given! 2] No Blanket ! 3] No soap, no shampoo 4] No view from room window, you will see only buildings attached to the hotel room. 5] Bath room windows was a mosquito's entry point. 6] No hot water for 24 hours [ Only available between 6:30 am to 9:30 am (as per reception)] We had cold water shower, hard for our kid. who was crying due to cold water. 7] Bed was not clean. we found many small hair all over the bed. 8] so much noise at night due to other room mates making noise + Diwali crackers noise. Able to sleep only after 3 am or so. Now positive points: 1] There was a 2 pillow and a bed 2] One charging point 3] Two Mirror (small in bath room, huge one in bed room) 4] One dust bin 5] One small decade old color LG TV with airtel digital TV connection. 6] Goodnight mosquito repellent with 3-4 drop of liquid in it. 7] Power cut - but in 5 minute it's back as there was a generator backup. 8] Location! walk-able distance from railway station. it's come between central railway station and local Egmore railway station. This hotel is definitely not for the family. If single, it's good for one night stand. I still have given 2 star rating for this hotel just for the location and for the price.
