Stayed here for 4 days for biometrics and Visa interview. Whole experience was excellent and memorable. The room provided (high floor, king bed) was clean, spacious and comfortable. The view of Chennai is so pleasant, we could watch all day! Complimentary breakfast and room service menu had many choices and they were very accommodating for personalisation. The food was hot and tasty.
Covid protocols were followed stringently. Staff entering the room were double masked and used face shield.
Pool, spa and restaurant dining was closed on account of the lockdown. We hope to experience it the next time we are there!
They also provided cab service which was expensive. The only negative point in my review.
Overall, thumbs up

I will be failing in my duty, if I wouldn't share my experience in Hyatt Regency, Chennai.
As soon as you enter, you are invited by a ray of hanging wooden Door Frames ( Vasakaal ), each frame meticulously removed and transported from the Traditional Chettinad Houses in South India. Truly, a Traditional Display of South Indian Culture.
Then you reach the Lobby, through a lift. There you will be amazed by the Artefacts depicting " Honey Bees ", throughout the walls, halls and corridors.
Each Artefact is unique, in its destination and its way of depicting the Honey Bees.
The Honey Bee Artefacts comes from Egypt to Tibet and comes from Woven clothes, to different Metals.
Legend has it, that when the Hotel property was transferred from Oberoi Groups to Hyatt, the Hotel was in disuse and so had huge Honey Bee Colonies.
The New Owner ( especially his wife ) was so moved by the Honey Beehives, that she decided to recreate the exact location of all existing Beehives with different artefacts from around the World. This is a Tribute to the Honey Bee Communities, it's hard working and community togetherness.
Also, the Restaurant has a different theme, depicting "Streetwise Food catering" of Mumbai and South India. Also , a small restaurant with Japanese artefacts. Aslo, the Terracotta artefacts in the lovely Swimming Pool, is a treat to children for listening to notice created on knocking the Terracotta artefacts. Swimming pool itself is situated in a Romantic landscape.
There is a saying that, " Luxury is in the details". There is a 24 hour Restaurant, manned by world class chefs . My favourite is Pasta in White Sauce. No Hotels can match this Italian delicacy anywhere in Chennai ( For Chinese the best is the Chin Chin Chinese restaurant in The Residency, Chennai). Also, I did not bring my Nail clippers and I got it. Also, I got a first aid Band Aid for a small scratch. Also, my AC was checked at 3 am. It's a 24 hour care on whatever dimension you look. Remember, it's one of the choosen destination for IPL Team for IPL Cricket Matches in Chennai.
As, a special mention, I wish to Thanks Mr. Surenderan, Chief Manager of Foods & Beverage, Mr. Senthil, Chief Manager for his time in giving me a detour of the Arts and Artefacts. Also, Room Sevice personal Dinesh & Dinesh, to mention a few remarkable persons, I did manage to meet there. My sincere thanks to all the Receptionist personals, Caterers and all unsung heroes there in maintaining such a huge Establishment.
I wish you all a pleasant stay. Be Safe. Take Care.

I had an interview for my daughter at the US consulate which was 5-10 minutes away. The hotel experience was not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The bathroom floors looked dirty and the shower looked even worse with numerous stains (photos attached before use. )The faucets had water spots as though they were not wiped down properly. The counters in room did not look very clean either. The beds and linens felt clean and were comfortable. The food was good. Overall I would not recommend this hotel due to the cleanliness especially during the COVID situation. There are numerous other hotels in the vicinity for around the same price or cheaper which hopefully are better maintained. I would not stay at this property again nor would I recommend it to anyone.
