This really is a very nice hotel, conveniently located for both the airport and the city but allow extra time for relentless traffic. Very friendly, polite and attentive staff, especially Kareem in the all-day restaurant. Super roof-top pool area and very good Wi-Fi in rooms and most of the public areasl. Lovely guest rooms, bed and pillows supremely comfortable. Loved the in-room teapot but dangerously hot to touch - they should have a handle cover like in the restaurant. Only real disappointment was that out of 4 nights, on 2 of them the only bar was closed to residents due to private functions. However this may have done us a favour as drinks are shockingly expensive once the taxes totalling about 30% are added to the listed price. Top tip - the hotel transport to/from the airport is 2100 INR one-way. Why? Pre-paid booth in airport arrivals is 450 INR and if you ask reception to book you an UBER (or local equivalent) back to the airport they will, reluctantly, whilst trying to tell you it will take too long to come. The cost is approx. 120-160 INR (yes really) and they actually come within a few minutes and are clean and comfortable (with English speaking drivers). Maybe the staff have incentives to up-sell!

Stayed here over the Christmas and New Year period for 7 nights. Our room, a Park Suite, was very spacious with a nice separate sitting area. Nice big dressing area and bathroom. Breakfast had a nice selection of items. The Dining Room lacks atmosphere, so we only ate here one night. The fish dish I had was delicious. The Flying Elephant had a nice atmosphere, although the music at times was a tad loud. The menu was very international. We were hugely disappointed at there being only a couple of curry dishes on the menu. Everything we had was tasty, but we went to India expecting lots of fab Madras curries, but in 7 nights I had curry only once! The staff in the breakfast room and Flying Elephant were very friendly, but often appeared to lack being managed by a head waiter and were therefore often giving the impression of not really knowing what was going on. There was nowhere in the hotel to sit in comfort during the day for a coffee/soft drink. There are a couple of sofas in the lobby area, but these are in the sun, so stifling hot. There are a few tables and chairs outside round the Lilly pond, but only one had a parasol over, so the sun was beating down on you. The rooftop pool area was nice, however only two pairs of loungers had a parasol. Every pair of loungers should have a parasol, especially being on the rooftop where there is no other form of shade. The spa was nice, with good treatments. Probably the first spa I've been in where I haven't completed a form about any allergies, injuries, issues, etc. The last two days of our stay were disturbed by workmen working in the next door suite, banging and bashing. This isn't the done thing, especially when the hotel wasn't full. Work should go on when no-one is occupying the next door room. We had a nice stay in terms of it was relaxing, but the lack of lounging area and good variety of Indian food, took the edge off for us. We stayed in the Park Hyatt in Hyderabad two years ago and that hotel is far superior than this one. Wouldnt return, but purely because we have 'done' Chennai and there are lots of other cities to see. The hotel, we feel, has a few things to work on.

Where do I begin. I was collected at 02:30 in the morning, my first time in India. Outside was standing a well dressed gentleman who took my luggage, escorted me to an luxury vehicle that was air-condtioned, had clean towels and cold bottled water. When I arrived at the upmarket hotel in Chennia, I was greeted by Vaibhav Saxena, who made this first trip to India memorable. The rooms are spotless, modern and spacious.There is nothing that you will need, everything is provided including toiletries at no charge( if you forgot something at home). Every staff member acknowledges you as a guest and treats you with the utmost respect. Food, food selection and attention to detail has made this my hotel of choice in Chenna. Lastly, I must mention the star of my trip, Vaibhav. There was an issue with my flight and hotel...He said" leave it to me Sir, I will sort it out" He surely did, he managed my flights and hotel in another city, going beyond the call of duty. I want to say thank you for your professionalism and care. We will remain friends.

Stayed 2 nights and both nights the room was very noisy and they cleaned other on the floor after 11.30 at night ! I tried to contact the reception to complain and no answer. I felt like I was sleeping outside it was so noisy
