Couple of days back, there was a family function in Salem, for which my brother had booked 14 rooms in Windsor Serviced Apartments. I pity my brother, little did he know, inspite of paying so much, he is going to earn the dissatisfaction of all his guests!! I looked at a few pictures, read a few reviews, everything said, " stay was decent". I never even imagined, I was in for a big, nasty shock!!! We checked in on 29.05.15 around 1.30pm. The first think that irked my eyes and became a big eyesore, was the stinking, stained bedsheets!! The second sore was the badly maintained, dingy bathroom, dimly lit, with no light above the wash basin mirror, with a broken heal faucet etc...there are umpteen switches, most of them wouldn't work. In our apartment, in the adjacent bedroom,AC was not working. We lodged a complaint at the main desk, they said, they would have it checked. We returned after the function by 10pm, they said the AC had been repaired. But when my sister switched on the AC, huge waterfalls started coming down, we had to keep floor mats and mugs and buckets below to hold the water. The room was getting flooded slowly, my sister was scared, there might be a possibility of some electric shock. So, she had no other go but to switch it off. In my room, cunningly they switched of the mains of the AC. We became frustrated to the core. Then the next morning, I came to know that this trick had been played with all the rooms. All our relatives got up with swollen eyes, and splitting headaches. Normally, Serviced apartment means, they are supposed to keep an electric kettle, with sugar, tea, coffee and creamer sachets. They even refused to go and get some coffee for us, but they had falsely assured my brother that they will get us all coffee in flasks. They faltered here too. The staff are so discourteous....Around 11 pm, the security comes and bangs at our main door, presses the calling bell continuously. I panicked and ran to the main door, my husband also followed me. In the next apartment, 2 of my cousins were staying, he did this there also. They too came running to the front door. He said, some people have vacated without without giving the keys to them.........so.......how are we responsible, I asked. He said, he kept calling us on the intercom, I ran to check it, and ........LOL.......the intercom was not working!! The best part is, they took the full money at the time of booking from my brother. Probably, having so many flaws in the management and maintenance, they would have feared that the balance amount won't come to them. I don't know how this was before, and whether this has gone down in quality. I am going there for the first time. They call it Serviced Apartments, but it is nothing but a cheap lodge, with no cleanliness, no facility and no courtesy. I am warning all travelers.........please don't even look at the side of Windsor Apartments!!

Nothing much to say...Property was much below expectations and was only Ok as i had to stay overnight on the way to Yercaud...The staff were eager to help and went out of their way...Besides Room were Ok which is why I have rated Average and not Poor....

I had booked for 2 nights stay with family through booking.com as they are listed on them. The booking was confirmed on booking.com however when i called the service apartment to reconfirm the booking i was told that the booking was cancelled as all rooms were full. Worst of all booking.com was not notified of this and when one of the booking.com CSR tried contacting them to find out what had happened she was hung up without any proper explanation. Rooms were available on booking.com and on the reservation portal of the service apartment portal but they just declined the reservation saying they were full. Cant seem to understand why unprofessional service providers want to be listed on portals when their staff are not internet savvy and professionals.

The tariff is cheap as chips, which seems to be the main USP for this place. Other bonuses are the location (in a quiet avenue), great views of Yercaud hills, supportive, motivated and enthusiastic staff and very spacious rooms. No restaurant in the premises, but they can arrange meals on pre-ordering. Although they call themselves a "Serviced apartment", only furniture and airconditioning comes with the apartment. Cooking utensils and electric hotplate will be provided on request. No washing machine, microwave.The biggest let down for me was cleanliness or the lack thereof. Toilets and sink were smelly and unclean. Without going in to details, I daresay, if you are picky about this, you had better avoid this place.

I stayed here overnight on my way to Yercaud. The place is a little away from the city centre which is why it is probably decently priced. But it is very easy to get to from the railway station or bus stand as the collector's bungalow is a well known landmark. We got here at night and actually called up the cellphone number provided in the booking voucher. The person picked up on my third consecutive attempt and was profusely apologetic and helpful with directions. Turns out it was the MD of the resort group. They also offer pick up and drop from the city centre so location should not be any problem. The room was very comfortable, bathroom was very hygienic and clean. Towels were provided on request and the bed was very comfortable indeed. The room also had airconditioning. Since this is a service apartment, there was one other room next door within this flat but it was unoccupied. The staff, which at that time of the night and next morning consisted of the front desk manager and a room service helper, were quite prompt in attending to our requests. I also availed the hotel drop to the bus stand the next morning. All in all, very good choice.
