A Hotel Must To Avoid For Stay ! A Hotel Must To Avoid For Stay !

by Amrish S on July 6, 2016

I, along with my friend visited Channai for 4 days' stay. Initially, we stayed for one night at Sangeetha Residency, Mylapore, Chennai since two rooms were booked in this hotel by one of my local friend. We reached hotel at 10.00 PM on 21/06/2016. We thought that we could stay in a double occupancy room but rooms were too unhygienic and having very bad smell, thus we decided to stay for on night only because it was night and too late to find out a suitable place to stay. We requested the reception person to spray room freshners in the rooms. The hotel staff sprayed floor cleaner area of rooms. It was giving very bitter and bizarre smell whole night. The toilets were also not poperly cleaned. Hot water was not available for bath. I could not sleep properly. The very next morning, we decided to leave this hotel. Shockingly, we were charged Rs.2000/- per room for single occupancy. We paid Rs.4000/- (approx) for two rooms. The Reception staff was very arrogant too while we were checking out. He did not behave with us properly. The night of 21/06/2016 was terrible for us at this hotel. One must think twice before moving in here.. Dr Amrish Sinhaa, Mumbai

Simple and good lunch Simple and good lunch

by Karthik R on June 7, 2016

Sangeetha is known for simple yet good tasty food. The lunch we had in a family function was in the same lines. Nice and good taste and maintains the same across the year. This outlet is just on the Luz junction. Limited parking space - may be for 7-8 cars. Others need to manage themselves somewhere around. Nice and optimal air conditioning.

Stay here if you must Stay here if you must

It's a centrally located property in the Liz Mylapore area that could be very well maintained and attract high quality guests and room rates. Instead what I found was a poorly maintained, smelly, cockroach infested place. Its sad to see cockroaches running on the bed, the bath rooms dirty thanks to minimum housekeeping and lack lustre staff. The hotel has a banquet facility. The day I stayed there was some function which required the presence of loudly chanting Brahmins. Not only were they loudly chanting they were using microphones that ensured that not only the invited guests were able to hear their loud chants but the hotel guests could, too. I stayed there just to catch up on some sleep and checked out exactly at the prescribed hour with no goodbye and no desire to go back.

Low budget lodge Low budget lodge

1) Location is very good, If you have any business near Adyar, Triplicane and Tenympet. Noise and dust pollution due to busy traffic outside the hotel and entrance to hotel is full street hawkers. 2) The breakfast is complimentary and is basic south Indian only but very tasty. But easy walk to some nice places to eat like Sangeetha hotel. Towels and soap provided. They advertise free wifi but its poor and only available in the lobby. 3) Staff and waiters are all from north-east India. Housekeeping is very poor. Waiters wear really dirty clothes looked unhygienic. Rooms looks very old, floor was dusty, and curtains were dirty Management needs to take attention to repaint and remove stains from walls and furniture and improve cleanliness. They need to use chemicals to kill the mosquitos 4) Room hygiene is very poor, there were mosquitoes all around the room in spite of mosquito repellant. Bath towels and hand towels look very old and yellowish white colour. Due to daily weddings and reception the hotel is a noisy place and no parking space. Hence do not come here if you have your vehicle. 5) It ok for low budget travelers for one or two days who spend very less time in room. If you are looking for a place to just bunk in the night after roaming around all day, this is ok. Please don't opt for this hotel if you are staying with the family. Avoid going here if you find another hotel at same price(single AC Room for Rs 1440 with taxes)

Suitable for business travelers Suitable for business travelers

Its a good budget hotel for business travelers and located near Luz corner, Mylapore. Room service is average. The location is good and there is local railway station near to it. Even local buses are very frequent.
