It was a great experience staying here. Rooms were excellent and well furnished. I had my food in the hotel restaurant, the breakfast was excellent and dinner was very good. The receptionist was very nice of the hotel. The hotel is located in the heart of the city.the city.

We stayed here for 5 days in this month.. Nice new lobby for meeting visitors. Since i came for business trip had to meet people.. Room which was given spacious. Restarunt is basic, but food is good. Especially buffet breakfast is good. Overall service is ok for type of budget hotel. They have 24hrs check in facility if you book directly not online. Location is perfect for shopping people. Overall good.

Our tour driver booked this hotel for us for 3 nights. When we checked in, even though we have requested before that we need 2 single beds, they said not available and gave us a king-sized bed. We took it. But when entered the room, the room was too small and the bathroom was smelly. Some basic things were not in the room too, such as chairs. I were not happy with the room and requested for another bigger room. After an hour, they gave us another bigger room with 2 single beds. This room was better, but no chairs located for the round table either. There were no towel for shower. The bathroom door was locked and the boy came and checked it out and found sometimes it gets stuck. So, all the 3 days we were very cautious about the bathroom door. As for our room door, the inside chain was broken. We called another house keeping boy to repair it. When we requested for towels, we were given 2 towels which had an extremely damp or rusted kind of smell, which we kept it aside and didn't use it at all. There were mosquitoes in the lobby. When we went to the hotel restaurant for dinner, there were nobody there and when we almost want to go down, then the waitress came about and took our order. We didn't go there again for second day. This hotel definitely need upgrading and better maintenance and services.

I initially wanted to stay in Taz Kamar Inn but by the time my travle agent started making the bookings, Taz Kamar Inn was sold out.So after an initial confusion i was taken to Taz Kamar inn where after verification it turned out that we had no booking there. Still the hotel staff offered us juice free of charge. Later my travel agent called and told the driver to take us to hotel Southern Crest.This Hotel is situated to T-Nagar.. the shopping paradise. However there is no aircon in the reception, restaurant and corridors. Only the rooms have AC.Its a budget hotel so dont expect a high quality service. They really need to upgrade the rooms and the overall hotel infrastructure

I am Malaysian and visited India for a holiday trip with My husband, my Mum and myself. My tour agent booked us 4 days 3 night stay in Southern Crest Hotel in Venkatanarayana road which initially I wanted to stay in Taz Kamar Inn but on that days rooms arent available but I agreed with my tour agent to stay in Southern Crest but all I got was horrible and a terrible experience being in that hotel. I check in on the 5th Aug at 8p.m night and I booked two rooms. Initially was given a small room another room was a big one. Then I went into the bathroom to take a shower and I open the pipe and it was broke. Called the reception and they said will send the maintenance guy. He came after 30 minutes upon making the second call to the reception and told us cant do anything at this hour and told us we need to change room. He said he we will go down and tell the reception. I waited for the reception to call me on regards to change of room and Mr. Parthiban didnt call me. Finally after 30 minutes I went down and told him what shall I do and how long shall I wait and tht was at 9p.m and he said he will get his boys to clean a new room and ask us to stay put in tht room for a while. It has been one hour and I had to give them a call again and he said his boys still cleaning room and they will call us in a while. After exactly 1 hour plus and tht was at 10.40 we got a new room facing my mums room. We were so tired as we left from Ooty to Chennai and it was like 13 to 14 hour journey and it took the hotel to get us a another room after facing so much unnecessary problem with their maintenance issue. Upon getting a big and spacious room the floor was so dirty but it was so late to complain again and we ignored. The next day it was a Saturday and it was worst experience we had with the hotel. We left the hotel in the morning for shopping spree and came back at 5p.m to find out that out hotel room door was open and we went down to the reception to find out why our hotel room door is open? The bell boy said a lady came to them and ask them to open her room. then I said my room it was only myself and my husband. Which lady are u talking about? He said the lady in room no. 411 and I said I am situated in room 401. Whts happening? Why did you open the wrong room? how if my things go missing? They told us we have cctv camera in all pathway and not to worry it a safe hotel. The boy in the reception came up with us to the room and telling us the same thing. The hotel is safe and got cctv and etc . There wasnt any apologize from him and my husband said if there was a mistake please admit it dont denied it as I do understand hotel makes mistake then he said sorry. But thank god my things werent missing but due to hotel carelessness I just wonder how if I have lost my things. The last day of my check out, we occur worst things from the hotel. My mum had taken three can drink and it should be 100rupees from the mini bar in room 406 and I wanted to pay for that and I went to the reception to check out and to pay the hotel for the three can drink and suddenly they keep saying that we have taken the drinks and chocolate from room 401 which I told them that I or my husband didnt take anything from our room 401. They say the drinks were missing and chocolate were missing. I was enraged and had to raise my voice to them till my husband sort the matter with them saying we will pay 300rupees only for the things we didnt take and I dont need your bill neither we will NOT return back to your hotel and the hotel took the money as we were rushing to catch our plane. I am not going to blame the house keeping boys but I blame myself for not checking the minibar as I walk into the room and no more staying in this hotel and I dont encourage anyone to stay in this hotel as well.
