Its worth the money. Room was tidy and the bathrooms were clean and spacious. I'm impressed with this hotel room & service.
The location is very good, close to the Temple entrance. The rooms were a bit run down. My A/C stopped working and could not be fixed. My friend had a non-A/C room and the fan control didn't work, it was stuck on high speed. The worst thing was that there was a wedding hall next door. The staff said the noise woukld stop at 10.30pm, which it did. However the band started up again at 04.00 in the morning and carried on playing until daylight!

Power cables visible in suite room . High price but zero quality maintenance. No response from reception on issues reported. Unwashed bedsheets. Old building with zero maintenance. Review reflecting on internet is wrong
Room is decent sized, nice restroom with good shower facilities. However very average support from the reception. Food was passable. Just stayed for the night and felt that customer service was not that great. No culture of really understanding what the customer wants.
The hotel is walking distance from the Chidambaram temple (less than 5 minutes). The room was neat and clean, though small. Enough for 2 people. More than 2 would be a crowd. Cost was on the higher side (2400+tax for a deluxe room). Restaurant not upto the mark. Better to eat out (Sri krishna hotel) - about 5 minutes from the hotel). Akshya has parking space. The staff was courteous. Only problem was that we asked for a bed sheet, the room boy first said that they do not provide the same. But, when we repeatedly asked, he was forced to give. The room has coffee machine and powders. This, along with a bottle of mineral water is part of the deal. The other stuff like chocolates etc. are chargeable (there is no mention of this). The room has AC but no ceiling fan (only pedestal fan). The hotel has wifi, but only upto rooms 101. Beyond that, the wifi does not get connected.
Newly renovated hotel. World of difference from my last visit 5 years ago. Room was small but big bathroom. Restaurant not very clean but superb food. Breakfast was delicious. No wifi in rooms only at reception. Very close to Thillai Natarajar temple.
This hotel is is nondescript , located in a small busy street leading to the entrance of the Nataraja Temple. Rooms that are adequate to sleep in and dress up, Service that is tolerable. Food in the restaurant was just adequate to eat. Nothing to write home about. Down the street, there are a few good places to eat. All told, what you can expect in a small town. It could have been much better by way of service. The staff could not help us on temple visit, history, local items etc... There was a locked showroom for South Indian handicrafts. Could have been a showpiece. Air conditioning and WiFi were adequate. Chidambaram has such a wonderful heritage and so many people visiting, that it is a pity that here is no place in town that can do justice.
