A very nice hotel. It was located in a village area. We booked Standard room, but when we reached there, we were given a cottage which was perfect for us. We appreciate the service of the hotel. Recommended to all.

It is located quite away from the city. Roads to hotel are not at all in a good condition. It is very difficult to reach the hotel, though hotel was lovely. We stayed in standard room with attached bathroom. We are North Indians and they offered us South Indian food but it was good.Indian food but it was good.

I and my wife stayed in The Gate Way Hotel in Chickmangalur. I had booked mainly because of brand "TAJ". Hotel is located 7 Kms from the Bus stand, we hired a Auto to reach the Hotel. Auto Fare was Rs 70. If you ask for Pick up service from the Hotel they would charge you Rs 450. We reached the Hotel at Miidnight 12, and the check in was smooth and quick, the staff were courteous. I checked in to my room, and found we were given a Split bed and the room was not the way Taj rooms be, but the location was superb. There is no free Wi-Fi, they would charge Rs 250+ Tax per an hour.In the morning we thought of hiring a Taxi for a day, and i was baffled to hear that Hotel charge Rs 4500 for taxi per day, whereas Outside they charge Rs 1100 per day. So if you guys are planning to go to visit this hotel, make sure either you take your own vehicle or hire a taxi from outside and better carry Data card with you, if you wish to use internet service.

We stayed here for 3 nights & it was worth the stay. Hotel is just amazing & provides you all the facilities you need. The cottages are really the place to be in. The entire property is maintained really well. Very good hospitality by the staff.

Good Location and overall environment. Very courteous staff and responsive to the needs of the Guest. Experience the sounds and proximity of more than 40 different varities of Birds sitting in your patio. The service response from the Managers were prompt and the F&B supervisors took good care of our Needs. A special mention of Chef Kirti for preparing authentic malnad cuisine(very deliciously prepared and presented), although not in the menu, was worth an experience. Please keep up the team spirit and let all enjoy more stays at the resort.

Upon arrival the hotel gives an impression of being just a little bit obsolete. However the bungalows are spread over a large area and are correctly maintained. Rooms are spacious. There is a large and very nice pool. The restaurant offers a coffee break in the afternoon which is well appreciated. Traditional Indian food upon all meals through buffet - food is tasty. Staff is very friendly and serviceable - we especially thank Sandeep and Pankaj for an excellent service !

I stayed there for 1 night with my wife & daughter. The food was horrible, it was just like some local hotel. We had a complementary breakfast buffet but it was the worst idly & dosa I ever had. Finally ended up having bread & butter. The staff are very much humble & helpful. Please please improve your standards in cooking

Really enjoyed the stay and the hospitality. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The restaurant staff looked after our kids needs. The cottage room is spacious and comfortable. e did not face ant issues during our stay.
