Amazing place to stay Amazing place to stay

by Veans C on January 21, 2017

An absolutely beautiful castle/hotel with a swimming pool. The room (205) was large and beautiful, with a nice sitting area and a swing at the front. There was a welcome ceremony for guests, and there were lots of activities, although somewhat expensive, offers by the hotel, including massage and henna painting. WiFi at the reception area only, hot water was hot and the food was alright.

We were on a tour and stayed in this castle for one night. My friend and I lucked out and had the room in the keep. It was huge with a nice balcony and a very big bathroom. The grounds to the castle were beautiful with a nice lawn and a pool with lounge chairs. Wifi was available but only by the front desk. There were bicycles for rent and many activities, such as yoga and birdwatching. The only downside was the poor water pressure. Also, the lightbulb in the bathroom blew out, and the staff did not seem too bothered about getting us another one.

1.It is 26 km from Chittorgarh & is located in a dirty village. The rooms were good but the washrooms lacked these 1.no towel racks/rods 2.no topilet paprer holder 3.no shower curtains/ toiletories holdin shelf 4.no hand towel rack/rod 5 No exhaust fan 2.Wi Fi functions only in Reception area 3. For room service one has to come down to place an order as there is no intercom / tele service in the rooms. It is very very inconvenient for those staying on first floor. 4. Staff is courteous & helpful and the food is good but a bit expensive. There are no eating places in that village/ location so you are left at the mercy of the hotel for boarding at fairly high rates. 5 It certainly is not value for money.

What a wonderful experience! Could not fault our stay What a wonderful experience! Could not fault our stay

This hotel is a magical place to get away from it all. We stayed for 10 nights as part of a group and were hence able to take part in a lot of the activities offered. Our room was in the old building and we felt like royalty stepping into it! Hot water was always plentiful and the rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard. This is not luxury, but a high quality genuine experience and we found nothing to fault. All staff members were friendly and always cheerful and eager to please. They work exceptionally hard and remained courteous despite rude and unrealistic demands form some clients! We could only thanks and praise them. The bed was really comfortable and despite being winter, we were never cold, although the weather was very kind to us! The pool is kept spotless. The food is varied and delicious. Poached eggs for breakfast were most delicious! We did the early morning bird walk during which we saw birds in abundance in close proximity to the hotel thanks to KPs eagle eyes! The bike rides were interesting and fun, if a little challenging due to the condition of some bikes. The local village is friendly and welcoming and it is nice to be away from cities in this oasis. I can see how people might not enjoy their stay if they are arriving one afternoon and leaving the next morning. This hotel needs to be experienced properly and the atmosphere and tranquillity enjoyed. The host family are most charming and welcoming. After 10 days this place felt like home and we were so sad to leave. We would not hesitate to return in future. Go with an open mind and a smile you will have an amazing time!

Charming, relaxed and loved every minute. Charming, relaxed and loved every minute.

Castle Bijaipur is a wonderful place to relax and experience rural India. Just go with the flow and everything will work out fine. You can cycle, ride horses, swim or sit around the pool drinking a G and T while reading a book. The staff are genuinely helpful and KP is an excellent guide for bird watching in the locality. The village of Bijaipur is just outside the gates and it's fascinating to go shopping for saris and bangles then have a glass of chai and buy some snacks and fruits before a wander around the streets. We had a 100 rupee secret santa to find Xmas presents and this got us shopping with a vengeance and gave us confidence to go right into shops! Castle Bijaipur is not a corporate hotel, it's a family home that welcomes you in, so worth finding out who is who and get introduced.
