We checked in Hotel Airlink Castle on 18 Feb 2017 at approx. 7pm. We were staying in room no. 506. And we were about to check out early morning at 4am as we had a morning flight. At first, the hotel seems very much posh, neat and clean with promising hospitality. But until 12am, some work started just above our room, and lot of rattling and smashing sounds, scratching sound of moving heavy objects, were heard through the ceiling. For a while we let go assuming it may be over in a while. But it continued till an hour. So we called at reception for help to stop this noise as we were unable to sleep. And my mom being a thyroid patient, she has trouble sleeping. We really wanted to have peaceful sleep for almost 3-4hrs. But still the nuisance continued. We called at reception for more than 3-4 times. The person at the reception also personally visited at the room where work was going on. But still, it didn't helped. Then we personally went on the 6th floor, room just above 506 and noticed that boys were working with lot of cutlery stuffs. We requested to please work smoothly as the noise and disturbance were really observed in our room very loud and we were unable to sleep. One boy their pointed out to other room, where the F&B dept. manager was present. He was present with some other staffs as well. We went to have a word with him and narrated the entire incident to him as stated above. He nodded positively & stating apologetically that 'We have a function tomorrow so we are working late night. But I will take care of it, and won't happen again'. But still the problem persists. We then again called the reception, and he called to the General Manager. GM also asked them to work smoothly such that our guests must not be disturbed by any means, as said by the person at the reception. But the nuisance was still on.
At the end, we didn't have peaceful sleep at all and realized how posh & good looking hotel may be, it doesn't matter. Even after making such requests, the boys were really unsupportive & stubborn to work as they feel like. It didn't even matter to the boys that the person who is requesting has some trouble sleep, so we must take care of it, but they were just numb to our request?? We are paying so much for the hospitality services, and this is how we are getting services in return?? Even after paying so much, why the services offered to us was compromised?? And even after GM making request, still they didn't bothered?? We even warned them that we will complain about your irresponsible behavior, still it didn't bother them.
The hotel is near Cochin International Airport, which makes the best reason for our international guests to take a halt or stay. But even if such nuisances are faced by them, then what impression does Hotel Airlink Castle is making?? Why such staffs are being hired who don't even bother about the peaceful stay of the guests??
The Hotel is overly rated 5 Star.....

This is a beautiful hotel located quite near the International Airport. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. A variety of food is served in the restaurants.
Very well spread complimentary breakfast served to the guests and we really enjoyed it.
The only minor problem faced by us was the defective door key given at the reception. It appears that as a cost saving measure they continue to rewrite the code resulting in bad sectors.
The bedroom at the hotel is cleaned and large as advertised . However the restaurant is really so poor, not only the food but the cleaness of chairs and benches, it is chocking for an hotel which want to be a 4 starts. Also the breakfast is very poor and with limited choice, they also try to charge for bottle of water I never order, took nearly 10 minutes arguing until they did agree..... The bar of the roof is very nice and relaxing. I will recommend this hotel if you found nothing else, if you are looking for taking a fly the day after, however the shuttle is charged which again it is not consistent with an hotel which claim to be a 4 starts...
The hotel is close to airport, semi luxury category. Have very good breakfast with typical south Indian and Kerala items. Rooms are just fine (remember, this is not a luxury hotel) but surely value for money. They seems to be not having enough front desk staffs hence those visiting with family might find it difficult if no supporting staff is available. Auto, Taxi and general shopping available just outside the hotel.
