Coral Isle

It's my second time stay at Coral Isle/ Coral Reef Hotel. Highlight was it was just 50 m from Ernakulam Town Railway station which was very convenient. Located at the heart of the city. Very good staff, cordial interaction. Property is very well maintained. Good tasty food. Good options. Breakfast buffet was also really good. There is lounge Bar and roof top Bar as well. Live music on weekends at the roof top Bar. All in all a very good hotel.

Horrible experience with the management and extremely exploitative and corrupt behavior and practices. On 22 February, we met with Mr. Soloman K.S. who is the F&B Manager. We went to Coral Isle for booking the hotel as a wedding venue and discussed everything, including all dates and functions, with them for a good 1-1.5 hours and obtained quotes. We were informed that they will share the final quotes, in alignment to our discussion, by email. In the final quotes received by email, there was an overall price hike of ~20-30%. The reason stated for this was "special season rate". This is something we were told by all other hotels we recce in advance as this is something hotel management is already aware of. Also, they ask for 50% advance of the total cost for booking and no refunds and cancelation policy at all. This is highly usurious and no other venue operates in this manner. Further, when we called them to convey our concerns, they hung up on us. Clearly, they do not care about customer feedback at all. The management of Coral Isle should be ashamed of themselves for exploiting customers that visit them in good faith and put their trust in them to celebrate one of the most important events of their lives. We don't recommend anyone to ever conduct any personal or professional business here.

This hotel has beautiful rooms and a very nice lobby. The restaurant is decent for breakfast, and the fifth floor pool and bar area are excellent, especially the dinner food. However, the service is absolutely atrocious. The staff can be very rude and they are cold / unwelcoming at best. They were annoyed when I asked for the WiFi, they forgot to bring basic items like toilet paper to my room, and you need to remind them multiple times for anything you ask for. They simply do not care about giving you a good experience. If that is not a deal breaker for you, then this hotel is totally fine. Like I mentioned, the rooms are big and very comfortable.

I booked for 7 days and did not want the Breakfast option as I only want to have breakfast for 3 to 4 days only (depending wreath it was to my liking) and in any case i could pay only for the days I eat at the hotel. But the food was the best at this hotel. I had lunch and breakfast. It was a good variety of veg and none veg. . My room AC was set to 21 degrees because I was finding the humidity unbelievable. And my room was very modern and comfortable. The lighting was amazing. The room had Ambient lighting so the source was not visible. And when you remove your card as you leave the room I noticed upon returning my phone charged which ment all power outlets did not switch off when your card was removed. Bed was medium to hard but no bed bugs. So all in all this hotel was one of the best. For my breakfast on the last day of my stay I said I liked hopers with 2 fried eggs and coconut milk and sugar. Well you can see from the picture the staff were amazing to
