This is such a lovely home stay. The room is clean and bright, with air con and a fan. It has a beautiful balcony with a nice view of the narrow paths which connect the houses in this quaint and unusual area. It has a European feel about it.
Sleeping was a little difficult as the noise from outside can get quite loud during the night. Dogs barking and there seemed to be some loud chanting or praying going on nearby in the early hours every night. But it is located in the centre of town so some noise is to be expected.
The location is perfect, walking distance from the ferry and the galleries and nice shops.
The hosts are friendly and helpful and very accommodating.
I wish we could have stayed longer but I will definitely come back.
I had a really great time (2 nights) at Maison Casero. The rooms are nice, clean, bright, spacious and have good AC. The location is ideal to explore Fort Cochin and to enjoy some nice cultural program in the nearby Kerala Kathakali Centre. Its situated in a nice and quiet neighbourhood. The homemade Keralan breakfast is delicious. The whole family is really lovely each of them (the two kids included) are very friendly, helpful and do everything to make their guests feel like home. I would definitely stay again at this place to enjoy the hospitality and warm-hearted atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Maison Casero is run by a lovely family who were extraordinarily helpful and generous with their time - finding a place for us at another place when an upcoming booking inexplicably cancelled and sharing stories of their life and family in Ft. Kochi. Getting to know them was certainly the highlight. Each time we returned there, in the midst of our trip and at the end, it felt like coming home. The location is very convenient to many of the sites, good restaurants, shopping, and the lodgings were perfectly fine - It is not luxurious and is modestly priced but was honestly our favorite place out of many where we stayed during our trip. In fact, in terms of value, it far surpassed a much more expensive place that was frankly awful, but which was trying to be something it wasn't. Mary
The Maison Casero Homestay in Fort Cochin is located on a quiet pedestrian street. The rooms are clean, pleasant, and have everything one needs, including AC. Priya and Jaison, the owners, could not be more welcoming, helpful, and considerate. Breakfast is also delicious. It's no wonder that they have guests who come back for a week or so year after year. Priya and Jaison happily arranged transportation for us, got theatre tickets, found a homestay for us in Alleppy when ours fell through, and in general, cheerfully helped us with all of our needs. When we left to fly home just after midnight, they stayed up just to be sure the taxi arrived on time. Because of our travels in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, we actually stayed at Maison Casero three separate times, and we truly did feel as if we were at home there. We were really fortunate to be able to stay with such a wonderful and hospitable family.
Maison Casero Home stay is a very nice place to spend time in Fort Cochin. There is many places to visit in walk distance and the hotel is situated in a small calm road with trees and plants. Priya is very friendly and the breakfasts are delicious.
Rooms are clean and pretty! Don't hesitate if you wanna book !
