Much ado about nothing Much ado about nothing

I read a lot of the reviews here and word-of-mouth that this hotel is really good. It might have been once upon a time. What I found was a place in terrible neglect. The wifi does not work, no hot water and the towel was grimy and the room quite dirty. Not sure if people are talking about the same hotel. For what they offer, they should not be charging more than Rs.800. Really disappointing. If you are not expecting much, then this will work. There's a much better place nearby, Aiswarya residency, that is basic, clean and Rs.550/night. I'm moving over there ASAP.

Stayed here for 2 days with family, looks like the only decent hotel in Vatakara. Chose a standard room, small in size but has everything you need (AC, TV, toiletries etc), fitting an extra bed may be a squeeze. Complimentary breakfast was good, service was also great. Free WiFi was a bonus. This is a good option to stay in Vatakara or if you want a night halt on NH-66.

Very poor service, ridiculous hotel rules, average rooms..... Very poor service, ridiculous hotel rules, average rooms.....

Went to Vadakara for a house warming ceremony and we were booked here as this was supposed to be the best hotel in Vadakara. We checked in at about 11 in the night and we were given a room in the third floor. Bed spreads were okay but the pillows had a slight stinking smell. We came back around 1 am in the night carrying our food from a restaurant near by and we were not allowed to take the food in side the hotel Management had instructed the hotel employees not to bring outside food. I find this totally ridiculous as the hotel did not have a 24 hour restaurant. The reason they gave was the management is worried about the guests as the food outside is not good and they do not want to be responsible. We gave the food to the front office person and asked him to buy food for us as we were hungry. Finally he allowed us to take the food. The front office person was a very young chap (I think his name is Jithan) and his attitude was unbearable. Next day we went to have the complimentary breakfast and we ordered for idlys, poori and dosas. We were told that all breakfast items comes with 3 numbers. 3 idlys and 3 pooris are fine, but what will we do with 3 dosas. I do not understand as the breakfast being complimentary, why these number restrictions. And when we ordered for a tea we were scared that there will be 3 teas, but fortunately they brought only 1. The photos of the rooms in their website is completely different from what we experienced. Only positive point I can think of this hotel is 24 hour check out.

Do not expect much !!!!! Do not expect much !!!!!

Visited Vatakara on an official business trip from 26 to 29th March and stayed at this hotel. Its a simple no-frills, luxuries hotel. But what more can one expect in a small town ? Beware, its not in Kozhikode but is about 50 plus kms away located on the highway leading to Vatakara from Kozhikode. The room size is quite small.....however are neat and clean. The bathroom too is smalll, yet clean. The bed was average, and the quilt was similar to the one given in Indian railways AC compartments !!!!!!!. About food, the non-vegetarians accompanying me enjoyed and cherished the delicacies a lot.....but for vegetarians, nothing much. Surprisingly, the breakfast buffet contained only vegetarian items but very very limited and not at all enjoyable. The staff mostly does not understand anything except Malayalam. Very hurting that a drinking water bottle - complimentary -was served only on checking-in, not after that......if the hotel wants to claim being a three-star, must adopt the practices. Even more painful was the staff etiquette, surprisingly did not find the typical Malayali courtsey in the boy at the reception in the evening.....!!!!!!!! !

Demo Trip If you want an extra bed go for the deluxe rooms, standard ones are quite small.

by lazyrider88 on July 18, 2016

Demo Trip all rooms are same , there no scenic view from any room, so you can choose any room, ask the room for mosquito mat or machine before go to bed.
