The Old Courtyard

Beautiful historical building at the core of Kochi Fort, restored with style and modern comforts (AC and nice bedrooms) while keeping the old charm and wooden floors. Nice plunge pool. Full of staircases - only ground floor rooms are accessible. A great hotel at a reasonable price! Lovely place to stay in fort Kochi. The small minuses: Breakfast is simple and quite slow (omelette and fruit salad, one juice, one hot drink, served randomly) - not the best we've seen, laundry service is external and quite expensive.

Great location right in the heart of Fort Kochi. The rooms are excellent and the staff were fantastic. The pool is very small but does the trick. Breakfast better elsewhere. No communal areas to sit and relax other than the courtyard.

The panels on the doors have peep holes we complained and the main receptionist lady and owners didn't like that at all. The room boys were kind and helpful. We left the next day without any refund. We had booked the place for 2 days and left the next day. Also if you are staying in the ground floor then you are in for a surprise when people above you check in, as you will hear their foot steps all the time light and heavy ones. Avoid this place. We couldn't sleep. Got a solid scolding from the main receptionist lady - it is good for so many foreigners what is your problem. Great to be discriminated in own country because of foreign people. Just an expensive hostel. Avoid. We went during peak season paid the same rate as Taj Vivanta. Our Christmas was ruined because of the owners and the receptionist lady. The ground staff also got a scolding because of us. They were only trying politely put our case through.

Wow talaga!!! The location is perfect. The rooms are one of a kind with all the wooden antique furnitures! It’s a feast for the eyes! The staff are very friendly, kind and helpful. I had a most delightful time here.

The hotel is really very old and is not at all suitable for infants or kids or elderly with mobility challenges. The hotel does not disclose this shortcoming in any of the travel websites. The rooms are accessible only using an old flight of stairs or an open narrow spiral staircase which is very risky for families traveling with kids or elderly. Also the rooms are very cramped and small and images on the internet seem heavily photoshopped. We were traveling with an infant and were given a twin bed instead of a single bed as per our request. Only positives are the support staff who were very helpful. extremely average hotel overall with poor maintenance.
