A cosy stay in Fort Cochin A cosy stay in Fort Cochin

by ckj2908 on March 11, 2017

Charlotte & her mother will walk the extra miles to make every guests who stay in this lovely homestay feel truly at home. Never miss the fabulous breakfast which is served from 8.30am, or earlier shall you have an earlier tour. I love it, and especially enjoying the hospitality of Mrs Walton & her team in serving every guest. Another plus point is it is just located at the center of Princess Street in Fort Cochin, Kerala, a convenient base to visits Fort Cochin & the surrounding attractions! Thank you Charlotte & her mother for making my stay in Fort Cochin a memorable one!

Superb colonial rooms in the heart of Fort Kochi. Mr Walton was a very helpful host, he arranged a doctor visit for us when we needed it, and he supplied us with lots of detail information about our surroundings.

Warm welcome at Walton's Warm welcome at Walton's

I am just so glad we found Walton's Home Stay! The location is perfect and the family are warm and welcoming. Rooms are simple and beautifully furnished and since many of them are accessed from the garden, they allow freedom, privacy and peace. We hate a/c and opted for the fan and it was perfectly adequate. We have many fond memories of Walton's, including waking to the sound of birds, and breakfast time in the bright, cheery kitchen. The food (fruit, eggs, toast, butter and jam) was delicious and just kept coming. Probably as a result of years of catering for French and Italian guests, Charlotte and her mother really understand the importance of good strong coffee in the morning and theirs was the best we had in India! On our departure Charlotte made a point of ensuring we had the correct information about our onward journey. The family's concern for their guests seems genuine. We were sad to leave.

Good value for money Good value for money

by Vinita-India on February 21, 2017

You cannot get a better location than this to stay at Fort Kochi. The rooms were very well priced, neat, and comfortable. It is a family run home stay which is good value for money. Contrary to all reviews of the past we felt that the family could be more accommodative in certain issues. The breakfast could be better with some cheeses, home made jams, baked beans/ cereals etc. It was the same fruit, toast and tea every day. There is no provision for even a glass of warm water between 7 pm and 8 am. It's really not hard to have a kettle in the common area. Small things just make the stay so much more comfortable....

Walton is a wonderful person and he is not a businessman. He is into welcoming people to stay in his place and it shows in everything he does from the way he helps you choose your room to the hand drawn map that he goes through with you to help you maximize the stay. I loved the extra mile he went to let me know of a medical store as my daughter had an upset tummy on the first day of our visit. His wife was pretty confidant that her home made brew will heal this discomfort. I liked the coolness of the rooms, infact we stayed in two rooms and both had ac and excellent views of a garden. The garden has a swing and a Koi fish pond to relax whoever is sitting there enjoying this place. The place smells of faint incense and is perfect for people who are looking for solitude. Going back every quarter to soak in this place.

Demo Trip We loved our ground floor garden room

by Florencemoll on February 24, 2017

Demo Trip Tasteful furniture, bedside lamps. Mosquito-proof, neat, cleaned daily. Choose a room with cross-ventilation, though.

by Walkaboutin on February 2, 2017

Demo Trip Ask for a room with lots of windows and ventilation, if you are not opting for use of AC.
