This resort has a nice nature setting of trees and if you're lucky, squirrels. There's lots to do at Amanvana, there's an activity centre which has table tennis, foosball, a trampoline and more, a pool (which is not heated), treks to go on and places to explore! Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner is mainly indian and local cuisine. The rooms are very nice and have a nice atmosphere. The bathroom is really cool, you are able to look out through a skylight. Though, to lock the room when going out you have to use an actual lock and key. A nice place to stay in the local area.
Our online search for an amazing place for our honeymoon came to a pleasant and unanimous halt as we came across Amanvana Spa Resort via tripadvisor.
The reservation staff@Amanvana helped us very well with all our queries. The online reservation process was easy and hassle free.
The resort is located near Kushalnagar, Coorg. The place is well connected via road. The nearest popular transport hubs being Mysore, Mangalore and Bangalore. The resort arranged for a car pickup and drop at appropriate additional costs.
We were greeted at the reception and served welcome drinks and cold towels. We were then briefed about the services and the resort as we were walked to our bungalow. Overall, a very warm and courteous welcome !!
As we walked towards our bungalow, we were amazed by how tastefully the resort interiors have been designed and how well they have been maintained !! Clean, aesthetic stone pathways surrounded by a plethora of flora was our first taste of the heaven !!
Then came the moment we were waiting for !! the bungalow !!
The bungalows have a small private courtyard in the front along with lotus pond and chairs. Again, the interiors of the bungalows are very aesthetic and very pleasant. The tranquility in and around the bungalows is another heavenly feature of the resort. The absolute pinnacle of the interior of the bungalows has to be the private bath tub with the slanted moon roof over it !!
The restaurant is located by pool side and has a very charming colonial feel. The variety and the quality of food that the restaurant serves is awesome !
The resort has a few quiet spots (rabbit holes) were one can sit amidst greens by the river Kaveri and spend time with the loved ones or simply unwind with a book in hand !
The spa services are excellent. They offer variety of massages and treatments to absolutely pamper your body. The ambience of the spa is very relaxing and the massagists are very well trained.
There are many places of tourist interest around the resort. We enjoyed our trip to the Elephant training camp at Dubare and the guided walk through coffee plantation which is owned by Amanvana.
The candle light dinner included in our package was a special experience beyond words !! ... and as if that was not enough, we also received a couple of complementary "honeymoon special" surprises from the resort !!.. (ummmm... honeymooners should experience them rather than me spoiling them ;-) )
A special mention goes for the willingness of the resort to please the guests. Me and my wife expressed a desire to plant a tree in the resort to cherish our special memories. The resort responded positively and allowed us to plant a tree inside the resort !! It was a very nice gesture by the resort.
All in all, for us, our experience at the Amanvana Spa Resorts was nothing short of a heaven !!
Amanvana has given a superb experience.. I wanted to celebrate my love b'day very special and found this resort. They were very interactive for all my queries and request on time. Had requested them to decorate our room, special cake and arrange for candle light dinner which was perfectly planned by them and made us very happy.
Infact surprisingly they had planned to make us light Chinese lantern as well, this was an unforgettable moment for our stay..
Should not forget to tell about the Eight Island trek. This was a awesome experience and entire group was energetic fun filled.
This is a must visit place and if you plan do not miss out Eight Island trek. As well there s a plantation visit nature walk.
As I was travelling with my wife and kid..so I wanted it to be relaxing and comfortable...and amanvana resort was the perfect choice.
They provide you with very good service whether it is in room dining or the restaurants...as my kid is just 2.5yrs old so we wanted to give proper meals like khichdi and dal..which the restaurant people provided with good preparation..all in all it was a pleasant stay
It's been a wonderful experience with Amanvana right from booking to checkout out. Akshaya and Swaroop @reservations have been most accommodating and helpful with sorting out all our needs. We are a family of 7 ladies and it was most fun.
The rooms are tastefully done, the bathroom is fabulous. Lovely view to the outside from the inside.
The 8-island trek during our first day of stay was thrilling to say the least. Lots of surprises and instils a sense of confidence in you, and makes you wonder as you cross the 8th island..did u really make it through that??!! Darshan as guide is a great motivator, always telling the group of 12+ folks that we can do it!! Loved the trek, highly recommended by the resort manager Mr Satish who saw to our comfort. I completely agree with him.
Everyone at the restaurant were outstanding, hospitable, and the food was good. Orange cheesecake, soft akki rotis, appams and fish curry, blueberry yoghurt, and a lot of other stuff served here was yummy and we enjoyed all our meals here. Bhanupratap and Dinesh along with others took special care to make sure our meals were great. Thanks to the staff for the Chinese lantern on our last night. Oh I almost forgot to mention the bonfire!
Lots of fun things to do like the foozball, carrom & few other games at the activity centre, open air theatre @7pm, little nooks to explore across the 15 acres resort, nature walk within the resort. But the best experience at the resort, was the spa that we thoroughly enjoyed after wading through the rocks, stones, wedges & crevices during the 8 island trek across River Kaveri.
Kavita is an expert and did simply outstanding with the deep tissue treatment; while my folks said Divya and Kavya took them to another world with the Oriental salt scrub and de-stress treatment. Very relaxing and value for money..90 minutes of magic to remove your aches and pains. The best spa treatment I've ever experienced.
Lovely ambience, excellent hospitality, the bungalows are clean, private, restaurant offers plenty of options especially for vegetarians. There's a gift shop too, albeit a little pricey when compared to what you can get outside in Kushalnagar. The visit to the monastery is a must do ritual.
A heads up to folks traveling with the elderly- the bathroom isn't friendly for senior citizens like my mom (74yrs) as it doesn't have a separate shower stall and has only a bathtub that needs to be climbed up and into.
Otherwise the stay was simply outstanding, relaxing, lovely place with hammocks here and there that let you unwind.
