AVOID TravelGuru IF POSSIBLE. I had a confirmed booking from TravelGuru for this hotel from 29th Dec 2012 to 01 Jan 2013. I was planning to spend my new year at this hotel. Travelguru informed just one day before that hotel is not confirmed (when i was 2 hrs away from Coorg). They said they had called me one day before and i did not pick up the call. Ofcourse,I was driving to coorg from Hyderabad. What do they expect? I protested and they made me talk to 3-4 people for alternate accommodation arrangement. The alternative place was pretty bad and i rejected it. They could not arrange for any other place. I had to drive back to Hyderabad because of this and my new year plans were ruined. SO, if you are planning to use travel guru, do call them up before your travel for confirmation

We drove from Mysore to coorg after a two day hectic schedule with all expectations to relax and destress. As we entered the capitol village hotel campus , it was indeed refreshing to look at beautiful garden, plants, trees and flowers. As we stepped down from our vehicle, we were bit puzzled to look at a huge gathering which seems to be for a marriage party and there was no one from the hotel to receive or guide us.WE could manage to meet the manager after some time and we checked into the room much to our dismay to understand that the power is off and there is no water supply in the bathrooms , the fans not running etc., Thus the first impression was terrible and bad in our minds. The hotel managing team requested us to adjust a bit , citing marriage commitment as a reason and when we wanted lunch we were asked to wait for more than half an hour and what was provided was also not to our liking. The frequent power offs continued to irritate us. The quality of the room is not an effective value addition for the cost we pay, so is the quality of service. Cleanliness and hygiene are also of very average standards. The one and only solace is the location where the rooms are situated in a very natural and green environment offering peace and pleasure. Sorry, we may not recommend with this existing standards but neverthless the hotel can review and develop their service and quality and deliver it better to sustain customers for the cost they charge.

Worst ever stays in my life at capitol bangalore Worst ever stays in my life at capitol bangalore

by Ananthakrishnan N on November 10, 2016

My experience at capitol was horrible . A. I went to the reception - was asked on my booking , when I informed Goibibo - was asked to stay at a corner .left the hotel for work as these guys were sure to delay the whole process . B. Came back at 10:00 pm , got a room - with ac not working . The guy who came to check out his hands on the vent and told that the ac was working as if the bed was in front of the vent . Ok - another one hour - again complained that the ac was not working , this time the same mechanic answer sorry sir - the ac tripped And we will change the room . All this at 12 midnight with my departure at 5:30 this morning . The attitude shown by the reception is one of the hopeless that you can ever get . My recommendation - stay away from this property !!!

Best hotel around Vidan Soudha Best hotel around Vidan Soudha

I attended conferences here that included buffet in the afternoon. The food was great and the place is great. Probably one of the best hotels around Vidhan Soudha. If you are planning to spend some good time and a nice evening walk around the Vidhan Soudha and High Court nothing like this place.

Satisfactory Experience for a Budget Hotel Satisfactory Experience for a Budget Hotel

by Sumitra25 on September 29, 2016

The hotel is in need of a serious renovation. Rooms are large in size but with very old furniture. The bathrooms were once white and no longer. The carpets in both rooms and around the hotel should be removed as it provides a very stuffy and dusty smell. The breakfast was average and if it was not included with the room I would not bother. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

The hotel is quite dated. Room was large but . . . Wifi was very bad, dropped out continually; bottled water in the room was not new and unopened - never had that in a hotel anywhere; while room appeared clean, there were a few bugs; only large towels - no small hand towels. Would not stay again.

Good food, neat rooms, good location. Pretty courteous staff. Bar was a disappointment and furniture in rooms need some care and attention. Navigating within the premises and basement parking is a bit of a problem but when travelling to Bangalore by road, horrible traffic and poor parking come as part of the package.
