We came stressed and tired to the estate, But left rejuvenated and happy. Accommodation was quiet good,we were overwhelmed by the hospitality by Mr & Mrs Dilip and team. Food was incredible good, ppl who love nature and greenery this would be apt location. The best estate stay we have Stayed and is highly recommended it to all.
To really experience coorg, one has to find a hideout that is right in the heart of the coorg.. It was neither too far from most of the places we wanted to visit..We were a group of 25 members wanted to break free from mundane. Though initially apprehensive if we could accommodate the team, this seemed to be a right fit. The estate is well maintained with clean n tidy interiors, a small space for bonfire, a lake, beautiful n lush green around the estate. Food served at the estate was really healthy and appetizing. Our visit to coorg would have scored more if we had extended our stay a little longer in the homestay. We bid farewell to the lovely host, and promised to return with our families sooner..
I believe to really experience coorg one has to find a place which is just hidden right in the heart of Coorg.. Chillipilli estate is one of them.. Not too far from the places we would want to visit, neither too close to the husstle n bustle of the city. We were a team of 25 guys n gals, wanting to break free from the mundane.. Though apprehensive if it would fit the team, we found the place to be right fit for the team. The estate is well maintained, has a tiny lake and lush green around the home stay. We were right in the beginning of summers the climate was still wonderful. Food served at the home stay was healthy and appetizing. Staying a little longer at Chillipilli would have really done a lot of difference to the trip.. We bid farewell to the lovely host and promised to get back with our families some day..
Chilipilli Homestay is nestled amidst coffee plantations. Away from the city, the homestay is blessed with lots of greenery. My family and i stayed here for a night and we would say that it was one of the most beautiful stays of Coorg. Mr. Dilip & his wife Darshan are among the most warm people you could meet. Before driving down from Mysore to Coorg, Mrs. Darshan informed us to make visits to Namdorling Monastry & Nisargadhama Reserve as they were on route to Coorg. On reaching late evening, we were welcomed and shown our room. A modest room right above their home. Filled with 4 beds and a fan, a tv and attached bathroom, the place is as basic and beautiful being a homestay. There are about 4-5 rooms for guests and the family stays on the ground floor. The place is filled with beautiful colourful flowers, a huge chickoo tree and other spices, dogs and ducks and lot of love. We were given homegrown coffee and tea and i have to say, it was the best coffee i had in times. The late night food spread left us speechless. Being vegetarians, we were surprised by the number of items to eat. One word will be short to fill our satisfaction and gratitude. We simply loved it. Next day breakfast was also too good. I apologize for not able to remember the exact spread. We had discussed with Mr. Dilip to take us on coffee tour of his estate and we woke up at 7 am next day for the tour. The place was filled with so much fog and chilly breeze that it gave you simply a feeling of being alive. Birds chirping to the sound of wind to the dew drops on the leaves and trees, you could ask for more than the place being a place of heaven. The coffee tour was great and post breakfast we went to Madikeri for other sight seeing. Mr. Dilip advised us about how to reach Madikeri and back to his homestay through bus. He informed about the places to visit and where we could have lunch. Late evening we relaxed in the homestay and post dinner had to leave. One day is too short to experience the stay and rejuvenate yourself. On parting we took homegrown coffee and spices. Mr. Dilip had arranged for our transportation back to the Madikeri. We were simply humbled by the warmth and love the Ganapathy offered us. Gratitude is a feeling best expressed by revisiting this place. the food spreads is made by Mrs. Darshan and we were extremely thankful for the stay. I would highly recommend this place and urge to allow yourself atleast a weeks time stay. Thank You!
An absolutely perfect home stay by the book... the perfect owners & their amazing daughter, the perfect cottage, the perfect greenery n peace and the perrrrrrfect Coorgi yummy n abundant food! Thanks a lot to Darshan n Dilip for making the trip exactly n more than what we anticipated it to be! Very warm n caring family... highly recommend this home stay for those looking for that peaceful, no frills and fulfilling weekend break at Coorg! Shall surely visit again!!
