Home away from home Home away from home

I have been to Deepwoodz many times and each time the experience just keeps getting better. Harish and his family treat us just like an extended family. The place us amazing and the foid is just awesome. You need to try the souffle that Mrs Harish prepares. Cannot wait for my next visit in a few months.

Nice stay, food not that great Nice stay, food not that great

Like the name says, this is deep inside the woods. Amidst the coffee plantation. So, if you are looking for a getaway and want to just relax, it's an awesome place. The hospitality is good and the rooms are very comfortable. The food was not great though.

Excellent experience!! Hospitality and lodging was exceptional :) Excellent experience!! Hospitality and lodging was exceptional :)

Very nice place in the middle of coffee plantation and a very well maintained property. Planned this trip through and had a very good experience. Harish, his wife and all care takers were very warm and friendly. Shared good guidance on daily trip planning. You would never feel like going out looking for meals they served the best spread possible (very good food). If you are a foodie than try their local recipes (Veg or N-Veg everything was delicious) They have few very friendly canines. My kid loved playing with them and jumping around the place. Some learning and experience which I would like to share - Prefer Homestay in Coorg. - Dont totally depend on Google Maps. Make a detailed itinerary before visiting (with Offline maps/routes). - Use vehicle with good ground clearance especially in monsoon prefer big car for such trip. - Spend some good time in property than moving around. - Carry Battery Power Banks for cell phones or Car chargers. - Iruppu Waterfall and Nagarhole Wildlife sanctuary is a day trip (must visit). Reach Sanctuary before 3:00 pm if you want to go for Jungle Safari. - Madikeri is a hill station and Coorg is a valley. Plan your trip and stay as per your preference. - Golden temple/ Namdroling Monastery (Kushalnagar) needs 3-4 hours. Try Momos/Thhukpa at Rigo Restaurant (if you like Tibetan food :)

It was a family vacation and most awaited. We traveled from Goa to Bangalore by flight and drove down to Coorg nestled in the woods away from the market and tourist spots this is a place which helps you to connect again with your lost self and with family its a bliss. The property is located a little interior but Mr. Harish guided us well despite the frequent network disconnects due to travel. He called us on the day of arrival and checked with us the time we would arrive. He ensured everything was in order although he was to leave for a family get-together. Lata who is the caretaker is ever so loving and ready to make you have the best experience as much as Harish. There is a stream within the property and Harish's pets guide you through. They know guests and in case you happen to halt they make sure they wait for you and guide you. Yummy food, no pests or mosquitoes, Dinner is served in a small sit-out available. They also sell amazing home-made wine, coffee powder and jams. We regret of having stayed just for a night. If in Coorg its got to be Deepwoodz.. There is no match to this little heaven :)

1st of all .. Prefer this stay only if you have you own vehicle .. And you just want to relax .. It's far off from main city .. Roads are not at all good .. Booked it for 2 nights .. But stayed only for 1 , mosquitoes are in abundance .. Think the owner should provide mosquito net .. Cause all-out doesn't work here .. We had our little daughter with us so we left the place within in a day . otherwise it's good .. Home cooked food ..don't expect too much .. Food is okay served nicely ..

Demo Trip We had the room furthest from the owners home. Its large, quieter and has a hot water geyser.

Demo Trip 1. Coorg is closer from Mangalore, rather than Bangalore. If you're travelling from outside Karnataka, fly down to Mangalore to proceed to Coorg. 2. Try and reach when there's daylight. It's easier to find directions.
