Jungle stay Jungle stay

by JivanKotian on August 27, 2016

Had the opportunity of visiting this property while doing our plantation tour which is arranged by the owners of this property and the only ones in Coorg I guess. They have 3 bungalow type room with all modern amenities in a midst of a 250 acre coffee plantation. It is on the main madikeri kushalnagar highway so one can't miss it. The food is prepared by the owners of this property who has a bungalow next door. They organised plantation tour of around 1.5 hrs by walking on the way back by jeep. Which is worth the visit.

What a Beautiful place! What a Beautiful place!

by Dan S on February 23, 2014

We went to Honey Pot Homes last year for a short 4 day stay. We had been travelling around India for 2 weeks visiting relatives and decided to come here for a break. What a beautiful setting! It is set in a coffee plantation. Accommodation is in just 3 or 4 cottages which whilst simple is delightful, clean, warm and comfortable, and set just below the owners house in a lush green setting with wonderful views from your porch of the surrounding plantation. My kids loved the tree house! The owners are very friendly and helpful. Don't miss Shamveels night safari which is a little tour of the plantation after dark. You get to see all sorts of local wildlife and if you're lucky you will see some flying squirrels as we did. The other owner Faisal who is very friendly and always asking after us. He will give you lots of tips on what to do in the area. We went to the elephant orphanage and also quad biking - both of which are highly recommended. It was also nice to just wander around what is a the fully productive coffee plantation. Faisals wife does the cooking and we were not disappointed. Whilst I loved her local dishes, she was so nice to do a lovely pasta for my daughter who didn't like spicy food. I had read some mixed reviews of the food but we and especially my daughter have no complaints. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Honey Pot Homes. It was an ideal place to chill out in between the family visits in the big cities, and we will definitely go back next time we go to India.
