I stayed in the basic room for one night with my mother.
Amazing quiet location with lush greenery and gurgling streams reminded me of Enid Blyton novels. You can spend time looking at the plants and birds from the outside porch. The stars in the sky at night, you can see every constellation you have ever read about. The cacophony of birds in the morning was magical.
The dinner was amazing- Hot Phulka on ur plate ! The wheat halwa was mouthwatering. Lots of vegetarian choices. I could live there just for the food. The staff goes out of the way to help you.
The location is quiet remote and approach difficult(much more than expected). No one briefs you about the place/things to do on arrival.
The room was really tiny, no place to keep luggage or hang cloths. The toilet was extremely low and my mom found it difficult to use. Dim lights and cold at night. The room is not senior friendly.
The cleanliness in the room was subpar. The blankets, towel and pillow cover were old and discolored.
Overall the staff were disorganized and haphazard, seemed like they needed someone to oversee and provide guidance.
Did not meet the owners during our stay.
Lots of difference in the price of room between booking directly through them vs when you book on travel app(learnt this during my conversations with other guests).
Lastly the basic room are attached to each other just separated by a door. Thankfully no one stayed in the room next door that night so we could sleep. So go for the higher category.
Overall for the price, the room was a disappointment. The peaceful location, outside seating area and food made up for it. The beautifully done place needs some care from owners, leaving it to a group of untrained staff may ruin it soon. Will look for another place to stay near Madikeri next time.
Just wanted to bring this into notice to whosoever concerned.
The property is beautiful but sadly I couldn't experience it because even after making my booking, my room was given to somebody else which I figured out on my arrival. The working staff was really helpful and cooperative to host me with a tea but unfortunately I was offered a standard room which I had not booked.
The local staff spoke to the (lady) owner over the phone and reason given was that as I am a solo traveller, I'd have more privacy in a corner small room which didn't make sense.
It was quite a problem for me to again go back to Madikeri where I was dropped down by the bus and search for another place to stay at the last moment.
Visited in Sep'16 with my best friend. This is a beautiful property - gardens to walk around, games to play on the porch, antique/refurbished furniture and such solace. They serve spectacular food - pandi curry, dosa, mutton/chicken - you name it.
Revathi, the owner, was super friendly and helped us arrange a car/driver to take us around coorg as well.
After being out till 4, it is awesome to come back, sit on the swing, chat/read/relax, have coffee. Lovely vacay.
I'm on the way to Bangalore after our peacefull, memorable new year at silver brooke estate.my husband and i are missing it already.the place was exquisite.we were lucky to meet a group of other tourists.within a snap of time we became good friends.we enjoyed singing old classics with them. mrs.revathy and Mr.yogesh made it looks like a family reunion.
The place well maintained and there's Beauty in every nook and corner.the rooms are spacious with clean bathroom.and also a little private garden for all rooms.my husband and I were amazed by the hospitality.food was awsome.the second day they served us the authentic Coorg pork curry which was my favorite.i can't stop myself from mentioning about the desserts for both days.first day, it was jalebi which was I ate a lot and was in love with and second day they served some special thingy with ripe plantain inside which was magical.
We are definitely going again .and I recommend all of you ,who are tired of the systematic life,to vist silver brooke and unwind.
What a great place to stay with family and/or friends. You never want to go back home !!!
Excellent property with just the right amount of luxury thrown in for your comfort.
Exceptional people who make sure that you are pampered so much, almost to the point of being spoilt :-)
Great food cooked to suit your taste.
Can go on raving about the hosts, Revathi & Yogesh, for being extremely hospitable and making our stay a memorable one.
Visited this place with my extended family who arrived from the US. Had special requests with respect to the food (spice and other specific ingredients to suit the foreign visitors) which was extremely well taken care of, not just by the hosts, but by the staff too.
The place is right beside a brook, which is a nice place to spend with kids having fun in the brook water. The place has a great ambiance for one to relax with a book and some coffee.
We booked 4 out of the five available rooms. All of them were very comfortable and cozy.
One place i would say you must stay at, if you intend to stay at Coorg.
