I checked in with a family of 5 (6 members in total) at 12:30 in the afternoon on 12th November. (The check in was late by half an hour). Given that we were late, the rooms should have already been prepared, but alas that was not the case. We were allotted rooms on the ground floor at the property with numbers 118, 119 and 120.
On opening the rooms, there was a stale smell of dampness and excess moisture. We were assured that the smell will disappear with time. Some air freshener was sprayed and the windows were opened.
Being on the ground floor, the rooms were accessible from outside, and surprise of surprises, the room windows wouldn't lock completely which left us uneasy of leaving our valuables in the room.
After the days sightseeing, when we returned, the smell persisted but given that it was 9:30 PM, we turned in for the night.
I woke up to excessive itching in the night at around 12:00 am and found that I had been bitten on the neck, ear, arms and body. y wife had the presence of mind to take pictures. (I was staying with my wife in room 118).
I was offered an alternate room on complaining at the reception. The room number was 117. I was again woken at 2:00 AM due to excessive itching ad found that there were bed bugs and other assorted bugs on the bed, post which I awoke the reception staff and showed them the bugs and demanded a refund, for which there was no apology or even a change of room offered.
I called the OYO helpline and spoke to Mukesh who stated that they would investigate and call back. Thankfully, service from OYO was top class with the OYO Cluster Manager visiting us the next morning and ensuring that we received a complete refund and were taken to a much better property.
My suggestion, stay here at your own risk, or rather, do not stay here even for free. We offered to pay for the lunch which we had at the hotel, and typically if there is a horrble experience in the most basic of necessities in a hotel, the least the hotel could have done was offer to waive off the charges for the food, but no such offer was forthcoming, and we paid for the food. The saving grace was that the food was not bad! Kudos to OYO for their service recovery, and I hope they blacklist this property!
We were on family visit to Madikeri, tal kaveri and bhagamandal so for basecamp we selected sri venkateshwara residency. It was worth a choice. most precisous thing or asset is their STAFF they are so co coperative and helpful. Rooms are neat and clean. specious and have nice view of the jungle. Location is scenic so i strongly recommand this hotel.
Good Hotel, but a lil far from the city center. Rooms are big, Specious & airy.
The restaurant serves good food, But the main problem is the location. If you don't have your personal vehicle you may find difficulty going to city center.
We have booked this property with oyo rooms. This place is good to stay. View from hotel and breakfast is good. Staffs are good and cooperative. The only problem we face, is bad smelling in room due to rain and moisture there. On our request, they are trying hard to clean the room and doing what they could do to remove bad smell, but it was not going. Here wifi connection is very bad and network problem is there.
Overall, this property is average and you can enjoy here. It is under your budget.
Overall experience was good. However there is no kids play area or good amount of parking facility. Food is costly a bit as usual. Room service was good but the restaurant facility was not highly capable of delivery. Please improve your parking and food facility.
