The Hotel is bit far from the city but perfectly located in the middle of no mans land! Loved the view, the location, the feeling of being away from the city buzz. It was a long weekend and was bit late on my reservations and all the big hotels and resorts were already booked or had prices hiked. To my luck I couldn't afford the expensive resorts and decided to go with Venkateshwara Residency based on some reviews and had decided if I don't find it clean and nice then I would cut short my stay upon arrival and move to Mysore for rest of the days. But when i arrived to the hotel i found it extremely good for what I had paid and the rooms were nice and clean. To top that we had witnessed the hailstorm on the same day and the view of paddy fields amidst the rain and evening mist was just pleasing. My entire family loved the place, the food (not so spicy but good food suitable for all age groups). The parking lot was sufficient but at times may get crowded depending upon the time of visit. Be mindful that this place is located away from the city and only if you have a vehicle, opt for this else it'll be difficult to commute. If i have to be a critic then following points needs attention by the hotel management 1. Housekeeping is not so great, you have to follow up on the service very often. 2. The cable and phone network was out of service most of the time(but i would blame the weather and heavy rain for that) 3. Upload some more pics of the room and bathroom which might help other travellers to choose the palce for stay.

no power/electricity they are running 24/7 on generator, becoz of that low voltage problem and no hot water in the evening, once you close the window suffucating... no toher option for getting fresh air, they should at least fix a net to keep some part to open the window, and food is very very bad other things is good

We were not sure about its location, rooms, cleanliness and its service. But when we reached there, we really like the place and enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Location ======== It is located 5 kms from main bus stand in Madikeri on Virajpet road. Auto takes Rs. 50-70 one side. Hotel is situated quite in solitude and it feels scary to go there late in night. But this solitude gives its aura to the location. You will see greenery and mountains every where when you wake up in morning. You need to have your own vehicle or rent it for easy transportation to all scenic places. Rooms ===== Their standard non-AC rooms are pretty good. Infact they were better than our expectation with good clean bathroom and view from window. Dining ====== Options are limited for vegetarians but overall food is good. Service is fast and they serve as per your choice. Overall ======== I will complement them by saying that if I go Coorg second time, I will stay with them again. I recommend this hotel for couples and families.

Good food and decent place for one night stay Good food and decent place for one night stay

by RevaShri on February 19, 2017

First of all this place is little far away in the outskirts of Madikeri. It takes from. 5 hours to 45 mins to visit the tourist spots like Madikeri fort, Abbi falls and Raja's seat. As mentioned in previous reviews, the room smells like the pesticide has been recently applied. Though they covered it room spray, we could still smell the faint odour. Apart from that the room is very convenient and good for one night stay. The speciality of the hotel is their food and service. We ordered for the food called Chef's special and I would say it is very good and tasty. Even the breakfast served was good. The person who took our order for food is very friendly and polite. We enjoyed the stay.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and our experience was average. The hotel has 50 double delux non a/c rooms with attach bath and toilet. The hot and cold water is available twenty four hours. Being centrally located it has its own importance. This is not an expensive hotel but for mid budget tourist. The overall surrounding view is good. The hotel is well maintained and offers packages for B/Bed. Though they have their own restaurant but the food is very expensive and not upto the mark.

Good rooms but pathetic food Good rooms but pathetic food

by SwapnilBhandarkar on January 13, 2017

We made a rather late booking into this hotel during the new year's rush, so it was quite costly for us. The rooms are good and big. There was no AC, probably with the cold weather in Coorg you dont need one. But we got the back side rooms, and view from there was not so good. We were right on top of kitchen chimney, so opening the window would make all the tandoori smell come to our room. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. But there should be someone to arrange the parking of 4 wheelers in the porch. In rush season everyone brings their own vehicle and parks anywhere haphazardly. The food at this hotel is absolutely terrible. It takes special efforts to mess up all the dishes that we ordered. I have never eaten food made this bad. The buffet breakfast was decent though. Advice to hotel : Change the chef, immediately. Also, you can reduce the hotel room charges when online the room is available at much cheaper rates.

This is a pretty decent hotel, but to pay almost 4000 per night during peak season is highly overrated to say the least. Location is quite remote, which is good in a way. No problem of bed bugs since we visited in December aided by no rainfall. There was WiFi, but for some strange reason the staff don't tell you unless you ask ;) Breakfast was good, but less choices. There are certain things which can be improved like keeping tissue papers in the room and bathroom. Staff are helpful.

Good place to stay near Madikeri Good place to stay near Madikeri

by Ratnesh_Nagori on December 24, 2016

We stayed here for 1 Day/Night in Dec 2016. I was with my wife & 2 Years old daughter. The hotel is located very near to Madikeri City & Town Hall. Its just take 5 min drive to the city. Room was decent and had all basic facilities. Room was tidy, bed was made & bathroom was clean too. Bathroom had both Hot & Cold water. Staff was helpful and courteous were available whenever we needed some help. We had breakfast in morning which had limited number of choices, though taste was very good. Bread-Butter-Jam, Idli-Sambhar, Upma, Watermelon Juice, Omelette, Tea/Coffee/Milk. Only -ve aspect with the location is that there is no network coverage of Vodafone/Airtel. Also, Wi-Fi had decent speed in hallways but no coverage in individual rooms which was very irritating. In case you are staying here, message your family/friends the landline no of hotel so that hotel staff can contact you incase of any emergency. Suggestions to Hotel - Improve Wi-Fi range for rooms and put a Electric Kettle to warm the water.
