The Hotel is bit far from the city but perfectly located in the middle of no mans land! Loved the view, the location, the feeling of being away from the city buzz. It was a long weekend and was bit late on my reservations and all the big hotels and resorts were already booked or had prices hiked. To my luck I couldn't afford the expensive resorts and decided to go with Venkateshwara Residency based on some reviews and had decided if I don't find it clean and nice then I would cut short my stay upon arrival and move to Mysore for rest of the days. But when i arrived to the hotel i found it extremely good for what I had paid and the rooms were nice and clean. To top that we had witnessed the hailstorm on the same day and the view of paddy fields amidst the rain and evening mist was just pleasing. My entire family loved the place, the food (not so spicy but good food suitable for all age groups). The parking lot was sufficient but at times may get crowded depending upon the time of visit. Be mindful that this place is located away from the city and only if you have a vehicle, opt for this else it'll be difficult to commute. If i have to be a critic then following points needs attention by the hotel management 1. Housekeeping is not so great, you have to follow up on the service very often. 2. The cable and phone network was out of service most of the time(but i would blame the weather and heavy rain for that) 3. Upload some more pics of the room and bathroom which might help other travellers to choose the palce for stay.

no power/electricity they are running 24/7 on generator, becoz of that low voltage problem and no hot water in the evening, once you close the window suffucating... no toher option for getting fresh air, they should at least fix a net to keep some part to open the window, and food is very very bad other things is good

We were not sure about its location, rooms, cleanliness and its service. But when we reached there, we really like the place and enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Location ======== It is located 5 kms from main bus stand in Madikeri on Virajpet road. Auto takes Rs. 50-70 one side. Hotel is situated quite in solitude and it feels scary to go there late in night. But this solitude gives its aura to the location. You will see greenery and mountains every where when you wake up in morning. You need to have your own vehicle or rent it for easy transportation to all scenic places. Rooms ===== Their standard non-AC rooms are pretty good. Infact they were better than our expectation with good clean bathroom and view from window. Dining ====== Options are limited for vegetarians but overall food is good. Service is fast and they serve as per your choice. Overall ======== I will complement them by saying that if I go Coorg second time, I will stay with them again. I recommend this hotel for couples and families.

Horrible - Unfortunately, I cannot give zero stars! Bedbugs and assorted bugs which bite! Horrible - Unfortunately, I cannot give zero stars! Bedbugs and assorted bugs which bite!

by Harish N on November 17, 2016

I checked in with a family of 5 (6 members in total) at 12:30 in the afternoon on 12th November. (The check in was late by half an hour). Given that we were late, the rooms should have already been prepared, but alas that was not the case. We were allotted rooms on the ground floor at the property with numbers 118, 119 and 120. On opening the rooms, there was a stale smell of dampness and excess moisture. We were assured that the smell will disappear with time. Some air freshener was sprayed and the windows were opened. Being on the ground floor, the rooms were accessible from outside, and surprise of surprises, the room windows wouldn't lock completely which left us uneasy of leaving our valuables in the room. After the days sightseeing, when we returned, the smell persisted but given that it was 9:30 PM, we turned in for the night. I woke up to excessive itching in the night at around 12:00 am and found that I had been bitten on the neck, ear, arms and body. y wife had the presence of mind to take pictures. (I was staying with my wife in room 118). I was offered an alternate room on complaining at the reception. The room number was 117. I was again woken at 2:00 AM due to excessive itching ad found that there were bed bugs and other assorted bugs on the bed, post which I awoke the reception staff and showed them the bugs and demanded a refund, for which there was no apology or even a change of room offered. I called the OYO helpline and spoke to Mukesh who stated that they would investigate and call back. Thankfully, service from OYO was top class with the OYO Cluster Manager visiting us the next morning and ensuring that we received a complete refund and were taken to a much better property. My suggestion, stay here at your own risk, or rather, do not stay here even for free. We offered to pay for the lunch which we had at the hotel, and typically if there is a horrble experience in the most basic of necessities in a hotel, the least the hotel could have done was offer to waive off the charges for the food, but no such offer was forthcoming, and we paid for the food. The saving grace was that the food was not bad! Kudos to OYO for their service recovery, and I hope they blacklist this property!

Good Hotel, but a lil far from the city center. Rooms are big, Specious & airy. The restaurant serves good food, But the main problem is the location. If you don't have your personal vehicle you may find difficulty going to city center.

We have booked this property with oyo rooms. This place is good to stay. View from hotel and breakfast is good. Staffs are good and cooperative. The only problem we face, is bad smelling in room due to rain and moisture there. On our request, they are trying hard to clean the room and doing what they could do to remove bad smell, but it was not going. Here wifi connection is very bad and network problem is there. Overall, this property is average and you can enjoy here. It is under your budget.

Overall experience was good. However there is no kids play area or good amount of parking facility. Food is costly a bit as usual. Room service was good but the restaurant facility was not highly capable of delivery. Please improve your parking and food facility.
