Gautam from Coorg, India recommends this hotel Posted:  Room Quality: 3/5 Service Quality: 2/5 Dining Quality: 2/5 Cleanliness: 3/5

The approach road to the hotel is bad. On reaching the hotel there was no one at the reception and i had to go to the back of the hotel to locate someone. The room was not ready and we had to wait for half an hour for it to be cleaned and made ready. This place is not run In a professional manner and we had to ask for things that would routine in any average hotel. The staff does not get up till after 7 in the morning and on most days breakfast was served after 9 am. For the price i paid it was a total disappointment. The food was ok but choices very limited. The management has changed and now it is run by a group named stay simple. If I wanted to stay simple i would have stayed at home.

Passable for the cost Passable for the cost

Stayed at Bison Manor kutta during our trip to Coorg and Waynad. A Old and quaint style building deep inside the coffee estates, has a charm of its own. The rooms are huge and spacious with a equally huge bathroom which gives you a feel of comfort unlike most hotels/ resorts. The furniture is decent and well maintained. The manager could keep the area around cleared of undergrowth to enable guests to walk around the property. The food provided is just bearable, being too oily and hot. However on request the chef made adjustments. Overall an OK place especially if you are visiting during summer and not during monsoon as we did, due to the bad approach road of 2 kms from main road.

This is 'The best' place in South coorg. This was a family trip and we were 25 people who rented out the whole place. This is a very old British bungalow but it is really maintained very well. When we reached this place, we were welcomed by a very courteous gentle men, Prashanth. He took care of us very well. Food was very good. Over all very good place and I would go back to this place again.

A stay in the middle of a Coffee Estate A stay in the middle of a Coffee Estate

by Mayur S on June 30, 2016

Bison Manor is about 2 km away from the main road. The road is passing through the coffee estate. We reached here after it was dark. We were skeptical if what kind of hotel it will be. It was in the middle of the Coffee Estate. Mobile towers are not excellent here. We called them to prepare a dinner for us before reaching there. When we reached there finally, we were relaxed that it was an old building converted into the stay accommodation with all the facilities. Rooms were big and spacious. Bathrooms were of the size of rooms with running hot water. They have very big garden dining area. The vegetarian food they cooked was excellent. They prepared the paneer gravy curry which was fantastic. The roties were hot and soft. They had a table tennis (indoor) and we had hands on before going to sleep. In the morning we visited Nagarhole Wildlife sanctuary and came back. It was a day time and while coming back we enjoyed the 2 km road too much. We stopped at so many places to take pictures of coffee plants, black peppers, etc. It was an extremely natural place. We were very lucky to explore such a natural place.

We stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time! Management and staff was very nice. Clean and spacious rooms, great food, and activities. Our group enjoyed a nearby hike, walk through the plantations, and a bonfire. Would definitely recommend this place! Great homestay for families and group of friends!

Honestly didn't expect much before I reached there. But there it was, a huge manor in all it's glory :) With fun and food and games! The approach road to the manor is a bit bumpy but we enjoyed the drive nevertheless. The place sits between a coffee plantation. The place has an old school charm. Every here and there you find something that makes you go wowww. A stack of awesome books, a home theatre +snooker room, table tennis, volleyball, and even a trampoline for all the excited fellas out there! The rooms are neat and clean. The bathrooms HUGE. Even the balconies make you want to sit there all day and do nothing. At night, a bonfire is organised at a site which gives a great view of the hills around. The downsides: 1) Food is oily- Can really be made to taste better for the price 2) Rooms don't have fans- We went in April- so even though they are superbly cross ventilated, we still felt hot. 3) There is no calling facility for room service. You need to call out to the boys from your room for any help :P Overall, my family and I had a great time and I would love to go there again! This time in the winters :)
