Had heard from past reviews that approach road is in bad shape, which is indeed, but is being widened and repaired, have to wait n watch what shape it takes finally. Once you enter the property, you get a VIP guest welcome. valet parking is available, but car wash is missed badly. Property is maintained superbly, staff is very courteous, prompt and welcoming. Breakfast and other meals have pretty decent spread, good options for vegetarians, taste was okay, but restaurant service was exceptional, manager really took great care of all guests, with some special requests entertained as well for my kid. Clean swimming pool, refresh yourself at the lake although have to take approx 30 steps down from the pool and climbing up could be steep for small kids or seniors, so need care. Behind the reception is table tennis, they don't charge anything for using their bats or badminton rackets, competitors can take a cue from this. Take a walk and de-stress yourself at Windflower. Would like to try the spa services on my next visit, with a little longer stay. One or two nights stay would do no justice to this place.
We had been on a team outing , about a 100 of us from Bangalore. The stay at Windflower Coorg was good. The pool has an amazing view from the restaurant. Food is simply excellent. I do not have much to say, except that my only grouse during my stay was the matress I had in my room, i.e room 39. Windflower should take note and do something about it, as I never slept comfortably during my 2 day stay here. Somehow my colleagues managed to have a sound sleep in their rooms. Else, I have nothing else to complain about.
The rooms are well maintained, clean and airy. the bathrooms are spacious and the outdoor shower is fantastic. Food was good and staff are great. Sangeet in the F&B team was very courteous and helpful. We were traveling with a 4 month old and a 5 year old there's a lot to do to keep a 5 year old engaged through the day. Their spa is very very good as well. i had a bad sprain in my neck and that vanished with their massage. However, the weather was not very conducive for for my 4 month old. we pretty much had to take turns between taking care of her in the room and participating in the activities with our 5 year old. The rooms are a bit far from the main hotel area and all events are organized in the main complex. The staff however were very helpful and offered to send us food to the room and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Negotiate before you go They may charge 30 to 40% more. Nice place and good chef. Rooms are excellent for two but not for families with two or more kids. Very quiet and Natural. But expensive if you do not negotiate well.
We stayed in the Wind Flower Resort in January, We had booked a Suite room in the resort. The room was big and spacious but the service and the staff was very poor. Mr Sangeeth the Food and Beverage manager was the only person in the Wind Flower resort who was extremely humble and gave us excellent food for the 3 day stay. He was very helpful and made sure that we enjoy all our meals. The 14 January ONAM lunch was an excellent lunch prepared by him and his staff. Would really like to thank Mr sangeeth again for taking care of all our meals.
