This resort is located right down by the banks of the river in Corbett and is quite secluded from the roads and hustle and bustle of it. Hence, its a good stay to relax in the lawns and enjoy the beauty of nature. The rooms are okay but there is a serious shortage of points to tie the shirts and clothes on. The wardrobe is small in height as well. For lunch and dinner, they organise a buffet everytime and there are strict timings for that. Nobody had informed us the system of strict timings of lunch and dinner and they dont have the option of a-la-carte as well. As a result of this, there is no option of room delivery of food. Even the evening tea snacks is served at the restaurant as a buffet and not in the room. This is ridiculous! I would try to explain the reason of the title of this review now. The moment we reached this resort, we started enquiry about an elephant ride to the jungle. The management staff said its available on the main road and they would help us to fix one. They wanted us to make the payment to the hotel at that instant which we denied. Once on the road, we were looking and strolling in the evening trying to see the elephants (pretty poorly maintained and underfed) condition, the two persons were accompanying and following us on a bike. When we found out that the ride was only limited to the road and no in the jungle, we denied the elephant ride, also the elephants were not typically well treated which we hated. However, right after this denial, we were asked to pay a cancellation fee by the hotel staff. This was preposterous and greedy stuff. I did not even initiate a payment or a receipt, and they ask for a cancellation fee ! Of course, we did not pay, but this shows the outlook of the management involved. Good stay, but be careful about your expenses and be very clear about everything at the beginning itself to avoid last minute harassment.

We stayed here for several nights. Firstly, there was no elevator to the upstairs rooms and no possibility to arrange a ground floor room instead for the elderly lady with us who had great trouble navigating the stairs. Secondly, the rooms were absolutely freezing and like others have pointed out, no heaters were provided. We ended up with three blankets on the bed. The rooms themselves were clean and had a balcony which overlooked the river - a nice view if not for the building work going on in every direction. Top tip - we went on safari for half a day and it was extremely boring and very very cold. If you are coming here for safari, choose a different time of year. The outside sitting area is lovely and a huge redeeming feature for this resort. The tablecloths in the restaurant were absolutely filthy (I asked them to replace them and they were reluctant to do so, it eventually became clear they only had one set that they use for several days, so expect to sit at a table with encrusted food on the tablecloth) and the service in there was way below par. However the food itself was pretty good although they were very reluctant indeed to provide cold milk for the breakfast cereal. They wanted to out boiled milk in the fridge for 5 minutes and the milk they eventually provided was indeed lukewarm. The wifi only works in the reception so basically not usable. This is not a 4 or 5 star place. I've stayed in 2* homestays that were better.

The hotel offers a great view of the river that winds around the foothills at the entrance to Corbett National Park. It's a small hotel that has simple amenities. Wifi is only in the main office area when there is power. It is cold so dress appropriately, as they don't provide heaters. The place although clean can use a little face lift, pictures were a little deceiving. Also at the time we were there, they were dredging the river and doing construction of a new hotel right next door. People were very kind and polite with us and tried to communicate in English. Overall our stay was rustic and we got some nice pictures of the hills at sunrise. It was nice that they had some equipment - seesaw and swings for our son to enjoy in the pretty well kept garden area.

We booked the package with Global Tourism of India (G.T.I.) who told us that the Jungle treasure resort has been booked for us. The resort was 28 kms far away from the gate of entry for the safari. As we entered the resort it was full of disappointments. We specifically asked the G.T.I. to give us a resort with the proper parking as we traveled in our own vehicle with the driver. The resort had no parking whatsoever and they told us to park the car out on the street merely 100 meters away from the construction site. On our insistence we parked the car inside next to the room allocated to us. At night we wanted to take the car out and go for a stroll but to our surprise there was a car parked right in front of the exit gate. When we requested the reception to remove the car we were told it is not possible as the car belongs to the owner and he is sleeping. Then he told us that he said not to park the car inside as there was no parking inside. We asked if that so, why there is another car parked right in front of the gate. We were informed that the parking inside is only for the owners car. To state there are no signs of parking neither inside or outside. Finally, the car was never removed from the gate and we were forced to stay inside like prisoners in the hotel we booked. What a great customer service ! The second disappointment was the rooms. They were big, however it looked like they were not even checked before giving it to the customers. the pillow covers were dirty which I asked to change. Also the shower curtains and the clean towels provided were dirty. The resort is not at all recommended and I got surprised that why the GTI did not provide any resort with proper parking as there were many resorts with nice parking all around the resort which was provided to us. If you are going with your driver and if you like to have a clean room and bathroom this resort is not at all recommended. The only best thing was the food which was in our package.

We stayed at the Jungle Treasure as part of booking through the Jim Corbett tourist office. On first appearance it did not look great. It is off the main road down a dirt road with construction happening around it and a dry river bed at the back (we were there in Dec). The pool and surrounds were average but the food supplied was well above average. Internet was very flaky (did not work most of the time) and there was no heating supplied in the rooms. There is a lawn area with cricket facilities so you can bond with other guests. The rooms could do with some maintenance (door needed to be lifted to open and close) but the quality of food provided raises this hotel above an average one. There is another hotel right behind this one that played loud music late into the night.
