This is a wonderful property, the kind of service that we got here was absolutely out of the world. The Cottage room that we stayed in was very appealing & had all the basic amenities. The room service was completely professional, also the food served was delicious. I will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

My second visit to this place. I fell in love with property. Great food, Great people around. Cottages are top class. Awesome food served with love in lovely dining area. Naturists know their stuff. Safari in jungle is fun. Highly recommended place.
We were expecting good things from this place, but were blown away by the glorious intricacies of the lodge. I am a lodge owner, and this gives me enhanced appreciation for the thought and details that have gone into the place. There is a great little vantage tower overlooking a pond great for fishing owls. The in-houses naturalists were informative and passionate about their job. The birdlife around the lodge was really good, mainly because of the vegetation planted within the grounds. We had jackals on our doorstep one morning and heard a tiger roaring close by in the riverbed one evening. The morning nature walk was very exciting, tracking down tigers on foot and seeing tracks of a big python. Very interesting evening nature documentaries. The rooms were spacious, stunning, with lovely details ( soft toys on the kids beds!). The food was excellent, tasty Indian but for a European palate ( not overdosed with chili). The fresh tea infusions were highly appreciated. We did 2 drives and saw a tiger on the last one! All in all an excellent place.
Great place ... Lovely hospitality... Loved the staff... The resort is nicely done... The food is great and its good place for a weekend gateway. Valur for money. Do visit the place to get a good feel of a jungle
This was the worst place I ever visited. Me and my wife was on our trip to Jim Corbett and this year we visited Dhikala zone and had already planned to visit Corbett again soon but from Bijrani or Jhirna Gate. We wanted to look for some place to stay. For Jhirna, we decided on for Jim's Jungle Retreat, we were already on talk with their booking agent in Delhi and my wife found the place convincing. So we planned to see the place before we book it for our next trip. We rode our Royal Enfield to this huge property named Jim's Jungle Retreat There is this lady Manager there who is very rude, First thing she asked to her associate was how do we came here the man said On motor bike she turned to me and asked how did you got to know about this place, as we dont advertise I replied we always search for this kind of property to stay. My wife wanted to see the cottages and for that she had to wait for about 15 min. mean while I purchased some souvenirs from their shop, to gift my friends and relatives but now I am thinking to burn them to ashes, giving them away as intended will be a kind of advertising and the lady suggested they dont do advertisement. We have been to many place but this kind of reception was our first experience, the lady clearly conveyed us that we are at wrong place just because we were on motor bike and not on our car.
This is the 5th or 6th time I have stayed in this property with my family, and have been going to Corbett for decades. JJR is unbeatable when it comes to location, service, staff and the overall feel of the place. There is just no comparison between JJR and the other tens of resorts dotted around Corbett. JJR gives you the true experience of being close to nature....most other hotels and lodges are more commercial and just do not have the same class, even though some may be rated higher on TripAdvisor because of their higher 'volumes' of visitors many of whom are there just to drink and party, and have no real appreciation of the flora or fauna. JJR does tend to attract a better crowd too. Located in the buffer zone of the forest near the Dhela and Jhirna zones, JJRis probably the only property where you can hope to see a tiger around the property itself ( I have seen one 3 years ago and a family from England saw one last week the video for which is posted on the JJR FB page).. The cottages and lodges are very nicely done up. We take a two bedroom family cottage for ourselves, which in recent years has been renovated to add a second bathroom which is invaluable when one is racing against time to leave for the 6am morning safari!! But the real differentiating factor for JJR is its staff, right from the seniors down to the Housekeeping. They make you feel welcome. We would like to thank the GM for keeping in mind our preferences (my son's specific choice in Indian cuisine), the Chef for the excellent variety of food, the Naturalist Mr. Sharma for planning our nine safaris (we did see a tiger as we always do!), our driver Shankar for his enthusiasm, our guide and JJR's Asst Naturalist Rakesh, Balam Singh for always making the walks interesting and everyone else at JJR. Thank you JJR team.
