I visited the Rangers Reserve this Jan, 2017. And, I have to say that this was easily the worst customer experience that I have ever had.
In addition, Club Group of Hotels really needs to understand how to run and maintain resorts and hotels. The maintenance of the of the property is very shoddy. From the cleanliness in the rooms, to seepage issues in quite a few rooms, to the quality and upkeep of bed linen and towels to some of the bathrooms stinking due to poor maintenance. All of that really needs move many notches up.
On the customer service front, in particular there were 2 people who completely spoiled our stay and really need to get basic lessons in the hospitality and customer service business:
1. Mr. D C Vashishth (Corporate GM): I have to say Mr. Vashishth is clearly the most rude person I have encountered, especially in the hospitality industry.
To elaborate, when I checked in the Resort Manager had offered me a 20% discount on Food & Beverages during our stay. The meals at the resort were mostly Buffets which is something we were fine with. Towards the last couple of days of our stay the occupancy levels at the resort were low and the resort offered A la carte meals to save on their cost and efficiencies - which is also something that was fine by us.
However, when I was checking out, I wasn't offered any discount on the A la carte meals. Interestingly, the resort manager was no where to be found and Mr. Vashishth insisted in an extremely rude an unacceptable manner that the discount is only on Buffet meals and its a courtesy that the resort extended to us and that "we have no right or privilege to demand any discount".
When I tried to point out that this made no sense and tried to discuss it with him, he got all angry and worked up and asked us "to just pay up and leave!!" I obviously wasn't interested in having any more discussions and just made the payment and left.
I would've been absolutely fine if the same message was conveyed in an acceptable manner although it still didn't make any sense. What completely pissed me off was the attitude and behavior that was meted out to me by Mr. Vashishth. Absolutely and completely unacceptable!!
2. Mr. Devi Singh (Naturist): Now I have read a lot of reviews about the resort where many people have praised this particular gentleman. Somehow, my experience with him was completely the opposite. He's an over-eager and imposing personality who's just keen to sell his over-priced Safari and ATV packages to you.
He's so imposing that he'll literally stand on your head while you're having lunch to get an answer from you on whether you've decided to buy one of his lousy and over-priced Safari packages. And, then when you tell him you're not too keen or that the packages seem over-priced, he'll tell you curtly, "Aap resort mein hi rest kar lo fir, wohi theek hai aap ke liye!! (You might as well rest in the resort only, that's best for you!)"
I don't know what was with this place, but this crappy and unacceptable attitude seemed to run across all the senior guys of this resort.
On the positive side, the property is brilliant with a great location, but completely ruined by the people running it. The food was fine for the place - one can't expect very exotic stuff in such a location. One recommendation, though, would be stick to Indian fare only, their attempts at Italian and Chinese are quite a lost cause!
I would never return to this place unless the management changes or it gets taken over by a more professional group.
Rangers Reserve is the best place for calm n pollution free stay in the deep forest....

Myself Col.Sawant I am a member of Mountain Club Resorts.I visited 1st time in Jom Corbett Rangers Reserve Resort were Excellent and Food Was Amazing. Specially thanks to Mr.Sumit Mehra and Mountain Club Resorts India Pvt Ltd.
For our honeymoon, we decided to go to Rangers Reserve in Ramnagar and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Our drive there was incredibly scenic and adventurous. It was a dark and winding road, with nothing but arrows painted on trees to guide us. The narrow lanes and rugged terrain provided a glimpse of the authentic experience of nature we were about to have. The network dies out 3km away from the Rangers Reserve, and we thought that that might prove to be a little bit of an inconvenience, but their facilities were so good that it left us wanting for nothing. The moment we entered, we were greeted with a warm welcome from the entire staff. They immediately gave us our wifi password, and assisted us in connecting our phones with their wifi. The soft spoken staff, the teak and sal wood decor, the well-lit rooms and halls and the warm and welcoming ambience gave us a good first impression, and that stayed with us till the end. We were then driven to our rooms in small golf-cart-type vehicles.
Our host, the hotel manager, Devi Singh, was especially courteous, hospitable and helpful. No matter what we needed, he was there to help provide. Please note, the number provided on the website and the other reviews on trip advisor is an out-dated number, and he can be reached currently on 7409344609. As there is no network in this region, only whatsapp calls and messages can be made.
