The place is basically just about OK. location is a bit out of the way from the main park tour zones. in the hotel..... the rooms are weird and provide zero privacy as there is a corridor in front of every room. the views from the resort are not spectacular to be frank. the property design and landscaping is below average . the swimming pool has no filtration system. the dining hall is nice with an open deck attached. unfortunately the staff is keen to serve only the more expensive buffet meal and not cater to individual ala carte orders. they made us wait for 45 min. before serving us an average dinner. the food in the buffet is average to good. it is not spectacular. the staff are very friendly and helpful. unfortunately they do not guide you before you arrive about the safari rides and the prior bookings needed for them. overall experience below average. I would not recommend this place.
We were 3 couples with young kids and I must say the property / location is really nice. It is little away from the main Jim Corbett Street where there are lot of hotels and hustle bustle. The rooms are really nice we were given the cottage rooms having stone finished walls and wooden ceilings. The view from the property of surrounding mountains is also good. Overall a good experience. Buffet spread was good but may be the same menu gets repeated after 2 days. That was OK for us as the food was good. The only downside is poor internet/ wifi connectivity and also to consider that there is a very little mobile network coverage.
Our trip to Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand was truly a memorable one. Nestled in the rustic and the mystic Kumaon valleys, along RamGanga a tributary of Kosi river, the nature is at its best in the most natural form. This experience can be gotten during the visit and stay at the Sterling Resorts Tree Top River View Resort. The access to the resort from Delhi via Ghaziabad, a great deal of 303kms, through the jungles is quite adventurous. The road is good but rugged. One should always be ready with cameras, for you never know whom you might come across. The silence and the ambience of the resort in the valley, with full fresh air around, define relaxation to the last T. Talking of the staff, each and everybody in the resort was extremely honest, modest, humble and respectful. They work very hard and are forever ready to do anything for you at any given point of time. About food, everything was exceent, freshly cooked. Soups were really very good, especially the local pulse soup, Gahat ka Shorba. The service was really very good. Drivers too were looked after very well. They were given dormitories for the night and they were free to eat anywhere they pleased. Mineral water was kept in the room everyday during cleaning. Along the swimming pool, there is a Holiday Activity Centre to keep the crowd entertained. Sumit, the Activity Manager, was one guy with great deal of enthusiasm and amazing fun activities for all age groups. He made it a point to keep each and everyone entertained. Be it small treks or small trips around the little town or conducting games, he was up to the mark. We thoroughly enjoyed his work. The safari guides and drivers are highly experienced and well informed about the animals whereabouts. Please, DO NOT travel after 6pm to the National Park area. There is a risk of animals suddenly appearing out of nowhere, we did not encounter anyone, but the risk lingers. It is highly imperative and important to understand one basic point. The National Park is home for those animals. We are visitors, encroaching their space. If you do not happen to spot any animals, deer, tigers, elephants, anything, please do not be disheartened or disappointed. We must and should respect their privacy. At such times, just sit back and enjoy Mother Natures marvellous creations, trust me, it gives immense pleasure and peace of mind. We wish, 10 years down the line, when we would visit this place again, we would be very happy to see this place untouched and unchanged. Me and my wife stayed there for two nights. As soon I entered, I got the vibe that this place exists only to make money. What I saw on the website was far from what we actually got. It offers zero value for your money spent. There is nothing to do around. You cannot eat anywhere else as there is nothing in the vicinity. They take advantage of this and offer you a buffet meal at close to INR 900 per person. Although the staff is courteous but it seems it is fake and they are forced to be extra nice otherwise how will they get their money from you. All good hotels offer free wifi. This hotel charges INR to work on their desktop and use the internet for 30 minutes. Can you believe that? NEVER GOING BACK OR RECOMMENDING TO ANYONE
Though the resort is far away from Jim Corbett National Park, the ambience is peaceful and lovely. Very good service by the staff. River fishing and trekking arrangement by the resort is memorable. Food is very tasty. Especially, Malabar Fish curry. I recommend this place, if you want to stay away from busy area. But the roads leading to this resort is very dangerous. Better to engage Driver who is expert in driving in hills. You will spot deers on when you drive towards the Resort. Have a nice stay!
