very close to the bus stand 2-3 mins walk, yet very quiet. Rooms were very spacious,a good 350-400 sg. ft. big. Even with the extra bed, there was enough space to move around comfortably.Rooms used to get very cold at night, maybe the temp was really low. The hotel has a central heating system, but that was not operational as it was still supposed to be summer (@ around 2-3 deg C) Food was good, breakfast sumptuous. Very confusing menu. I wanted Chicken Lollipop, but the hotel staff insisted that it is priced at 400 Rs. Chicken Malai Kebab was 200 Rs. and Chicken Tikka Kebab was again 400 Rs. I never understood the discrepancy, but gave up trying to reason with the hotel staff The hotel staff were very helpful and special mention of Bintu, who was always around if you needed anything from water, to laundry, to bag delivery, to room service. Overall a very comfortable stay and would definitely recommend The hotel does not have a lift, and we were on level 3, so was a good exercise climbing up stairs, except when you were very tired and wished that there was a lift available. Also very few parking options. We had rented a car from Amritsar and for the first 2N, the driver had to park in the city paid parking area as the hotel did not have any space for parking.
Had to struggle to reach the hotel as it is located on a very narrow lane and getting my SUV there was an ordeal. The hotel parking was a complete mess and there was no body to assist us in parking our vehicle. We reached the hotel quite late in the night and nobody bothered to ask us to do checking formalities.. we were just handed over our keys ( wonder if there was an impostor in my name they would have let him in without verifying details) The room was ok in size but cud definitely have been cleaner. The balcony provided a lovely view . The tea at the hotel was quite bad ( they were serving tea in cracked cups). Wonder how did this hotel manage a three star rating.The food was ok even though there was limited variety. The staff was not very supporting and they refused to serve even tea at 7 in the morning. overall an average experience .
Hi Vandana I had booked 3 bookings from Travel Guru at 3 different places. Katra ( TGUA0000452420) Dalhousie (TGUA0000452426) Dharamshala (TGUA0000452497). I had been with my Wife on a holiday trip for all these 3 places and as the booking was done a month prior and with such esteemed travel company, I expected a joyous and relaxing holiday session. My stay at Katra was good and hassle free. After spending 2 days, we went to Dalhousie to spend some quality time at Dalhousie. On reaching there on 27th May afternoon at Dalhousie Height hotel, got to know from the Hotel Manager (Mr. Chauhan) that we do not have any booking by my name. As we were really tired from travelling from Jammu to Dalhousie, this was the last thing which I had expected even after getting SMS confirmation from travelguru. Thanks to my cell being on roaming, contacted travel guru office wherein again I was told that some blunder has happened and I was being asked to now shift to a relatively low grade hotel (Hotel Grace Mount). Please note that I had booked my Super deluxe room with Hotel Dalhousie heights which now got transferred to a low grade hotel with a far lower grade room. All my dreams of spending a quality holiday were shattered within minutes..As I didn't had no other options had to shift in Hotel grace mount. To increase my miseries further, I was told that my stay in Hotel grace mount was from 27th May till 31st May. For 1 more day stay in Dalhousie . I had to shift from Hotel Grace Mount to Alps Spa Resort ( again in Deluxe room and NOT in Super Deluxe room which I had booked and paid for). As I was accompanied by my wife, the situation got all the more worse to just be accommodated in some low grade hotel and room and shifting on days from one hotel to another.. After spending those painful 5 days, had moved to McLeodganj ( Himgiri Resorts) to have much of the relief and peace of mind. As a feedback, I am sure it�s not one of the best to receive but from the customer standpoint I had to undergo a much harrowing experience even after spending so much with one of the best travelling companies in India. I would request to please take this with utmost priority and see if there is something which you can do to improve the services in future..Also I would appreciate if you can let me know if you can see the entire things from the financial payout perspective also. Groups was on ground floor,which was not comfortable.
I went to that hotel with my family and it was a wonderful hotel to stay in. Room provided to us was neat & clean.The only point of concern was food it was not as good.The places to visit were close from hotel so it made my stay very comfortable. I will visit that hotel again as well as recommened to my friend.
