It is an ideally located hotel, just at Gandhi chowk with good accessability to all spots. Staff is cordial and service is good. Rooms are spacious.Only problem is that rooms do not give feeling of cleanliness, furniture is very old and even linens look dirty. Too much noise from neighbour rooms.

The Hotel Mongas is an excellent choice for a relaxing and rejuvenating stay! Everything about this property speaks about the passion of the owner about how much he cares for his guests and their likes and dislikes. This hotel clearly deserves to be in the list of top serving hotels in India, with tariff a little above than the budget hotels, however, Mongas justifies everything in terms of food quality, food variety, well spaced rooms and comfortable beds. Also the hotel is very closely situated from the main market which is always an added bonus.
we were there in january 2017 during winter time. +ve points: close to city center (mall rd is 10 mins walking distance), buffet had a fair selection (local cuisine and bread/eggs/cereal). -ve points: tends to have power trip everyday-at least 3-4 times/day during winter, rooms are cold-the only heating point was a portable rotating stand heater, very noisy as we had a room close to the staircase and hot water only was available for the 1st 10 mins you shower.
My Self Yadudayal from New Delhi we booked our trip from indianholidayclub one excutive name mahesh suggest this hotel for our trip we are group of total 20 members we really enjoyed this hotel food is awesome daily bonfire with music is a very good environment and manager karan is a helpful man specially all creadit goes to Karan Manager of hotel Mongas and our trip organiser Mahesh Indianholidayclub
-Hotel is minutes walk to market. Although, the market itself is not that great. -New years party was great. -Hotel staff is awesome.Immediate response for any requests. Now what we didn't liked: 1. Food: either it be breakfast ,in-room dining or dinner, nothing was tasty at all. 2. Parking: Very limited space for vehicles to be parked in busy road. 3. In the room which we stayed all the doors had gaps in bottom which made cold air to be coming inside the room making the room very cold.
Its difficult to give a rating for this hotel as I have mixed feelings. We wouldnt stay again however I want to point out that the hotel itself and staff were great and the hotel seemed full the time that we were there. This is clearly a popular place - It just depends on what you are looking for during your stay. The staff member that attended to our room whenever we needed something was fantastic. He was friendly and helpful and an asset to the hotel. All staff in general (including a woman we presumed to be the owner?) made an effort to ensure we felt welcome and comfortable. Due to a booking mistake (no fault of Mongas) we had to change rooms part way through our stay. We were grateful that when moving rooms, staff made an effort to ensure the next room was available for my partner to move into due to him being unwell from the evening before. Its a very short walk to the market (less than 5 minutes) and the fire on the terrace at night is somewhere nice to gather in the evenings. On night 1 and 2 there was music on the terrace. This created a great atmosphere for those sitting on the terrace, however the music was so loud it made watching a movie or going to sleep impossible. When the music ended (roughly 10pm), the noise of guests continued until well after midnight on both nights, through televisions or general conversations in the hall outside our door. The noise picked up again about 5am both mornings, leaving us unrested and tired. Our 3rd night was New Years. The hotel held a party which was great. I didnt attend much of it due to my partner still being unwell in bed, however it seemed to be a success. We went to Dalhousie with the view to spend the last 5 nights in India somewhere peaceful and relaxing. After 3 nights of not enjoying ourselves, we decided to move on elsewhere and see what other towns had to offer. Noise may not be an issue for some and if not, then this hotel is potentially a good choice. It seemed crazy to us that we slept better in cities such as Jaipur, Delhi and Agra but came to Dalhousie to be kept up most of the night. Wifi was free of charge and available on the terrace (not in our room) We had 3 different devices and this was the case with all of them. Room tip We stayed in superior room (308) for 2 nights and attic room (406) for 1 night. Both reasonably clean and comfortable. Superior room is underneath the dining room, so expect noise from above (this may not bother you). Attic room slightly closer to the terrace and the noise that comes from it, and also on a walkway to a number of other rooms. This means foot traffic past your room and down the stairwell if in room 406, is quite noisy too. The attic room was quite quaint in appearance and we really liked the look of it.
