I have given this place a 3-star rating; I would have given it a 5-star if the staff at reception was better at interacting with guests. One would expect to be received warmly and at least with a smile at a place which looks as impressive as this; unfortunately for us, the guy behind the desk seemed least interested to welcome any guests the moment we walked in. To be fair to the place, they did offer a complimentary drink, but the attitude of the people is what matters more. Even the check-out experience was one-of-a-kind for us. After we cleared our bills, we were made to stand 5 min at the front desk, because apparently the cleaning staff found a HAND TOWEL to be missing from the room! We have been in enough hotels, but never ever have had to face an experience like this. It just felt humiliating for this man to stop us and ask us to wait while they figured where it went. I still don't know whether they found it, but I sure as hell know that its not with us; and I also know that I don't want to visit this apparently great resort in Daman again.
As for the place, the property is really nice, rooms have all the modern amenities, and the location is good as well, right next to the sea. Pool area was really clean, but the Jacuzzi was being used as a kids' pool, so we couldn't enjoy that. Food is ok, it wasn't great but I believe it was better than other places around because its rated as one of the best restaurants in Daman. If you are looking for a place to unwind over a weekend, this is the place for you. Hopefully, they would train their staff (at least the front desk) better to match up to the standards of the place.
We booked the room online.Room is at the good loacation and good restaurant. I was very impressed by your staff i think his name is Nikhil Kaul. He met me during dinner time very courteous and humble.apart from that other staff were also good. Rooms were nice. Keep up the Good Job...
Good location, descent swimming pool and good restaurant. Probably one of the good hotels in Devka beach Daman. Food is nice and descent.
We took Pool facing room and it was quite clean and well maintained. Definitely a good hotel to spend your weekend.
Booking: We booked the room online through the hotel website and it was simple to navigate and complete the booking . Discounted rate was available (not sure when this is made available) for online bookings. Got messages for confirmation/reminder/check-in/check-out seamlessly.
Note: While booking we found out that many hotels in Daman were sold out (Feb still being an odd season). We found out after reaching Daman that was due to destination weddings (which is quite popular). No idea if GoldBeach Resort permits destination weddings, but do check in advance to avoid chaos
Check-in: The reception staff was warm and friendly. Check-in was a breeze and the staff provided all the details about the resort (timings for pool, gym, kids room, lunch, dinner time etc). Ample parking is available within the resort premises
Room: As we booked late, all sea-facing rooms were sold out. We were alloted pool facing rooms and they were quite good (all-though you don't quite get the feeling of being on the beach). Room was equipped with modern fittings including the bathroom fittings and did not show any signs of wear-&-tear. Bedding and linens were quite comfortable as per out liking. The sound-proofing was quite good (there were 2 karaoke's going nearby, but there was minimal sound in the room).
Amenities: The pool area is quite clean and we could see it being cleaned frequently. The pool itself is neatly maintained in-spite of a pool-side bar (and lots of folks eating and drinking besides the pool). The gym is functional (with an awesome view) and has enough equipment to do full-fledged workouts. Kids zone has enough activities to keep your kids busy. WiFi was decent (even in rooms)
Food: Tasty with more than enough variety. Service was okay (however, the load was quite low). Breakfast had lot of variety and the food was palatable (nothing extra-ordinary)
Misc: The resort is located on the main road of Devka beach and very easy to locate. It is quite less jazzy than other resorts nearby. The beach itself is quite a let-down. You can do tandem biking (tandem bikes are available just across the main gate) or go to Mirasol lake (enjoyable for kids) which is quite nearby
Overall: Nicely maintained place. And it does live up to it's rating on tripadvisor
Good room close the beach , nice service but the breakfast is hard to eat (for me i'am Thailand man because the basic indian food too much of flour and veg. Soup) i strong recommend please prepare some international breakfast that only one, other than every thing is good (I visit hear 4 times totals 8 night 8 breakfast).
