The hotel describes itself as a heritage hotel and it doesn't disappoint on this score . The interior is furnished in real Raj style and the 'heritage' theme continues with the roaring open fires and the hot water bottles in beds . The evening buffet was good but breakfast could do with improvement . The dining room staff were delightful . The hotel is famous for its high tea but I didn't experience this . Shame that the garden is surrounded by a high fence but it does shield it from the sight of the haphazard development that has ensued in Darjeeling . Beware of the monkeys !
