View is nice but no proper Maintenance for the below ground level rooms. Full of insects even big spiders. Rooms of the Top floor is better to take. Food is good and staffs are cooperative. But can't spare the insect part.

You visit Darjeeling to view Mt. Kanchenjunga from diverse viewing locations, and end up being awed by its Majestic presence - no matter from where you view it. If you select the right hotel, you can watch the rising sun bathe it inch-by-inch every morning, from your hotel room. We stayed at the Dolphin hotel, located on Mall road, right next to the Governor's house. We spent half of every morning sitting with our friends and being awed by its towering presence and pristine beauty over cups of Darjeeling tea. Towards the end of the day, we gathered in our rooms to watch the sunlight fade away inch-by-inch until the entire mountain is cast in darkness. An experience of a lifetime.

Hotel with a beautiful Kanchenjunga view Hotel with a beautiful Kanchenjunga view

This hotel is nicely located next to the Darjeeling Governor house and a view-point. Pros: Definitely the location. One can view Mt Kanchenjunga while lying on the bed inside Just a 10 minutes walk to Mall Located at a quite place, yet closed to mall Quite affordable Room heater can be rented with an extra charge Hot water available Staffs were very courteous and always helpful including the manager The view-point is just adjacent to the hotel Food was good Bathroom was fairly clean Cons: The bed can only accommodate 2 people. An extra person gets a mattress on the ground. However, we 3 shared the bed together and it was stuffy Non-view room can be really stuffy and dark (Only 1 non-view room is available). Mobile network is fairly week inside the room. No wifi. However, for emergency, manager's system can be used. Note, only for emergency Summary: Overall it's a nice budget hotel in a good location with good food. Don't expect luxury. I didn't face any trouble in our stay of 3 days . I really wonder, why the rating is so less here for this hotel. I would definitely come back to this hotel in my next visit.

Terrible experience Terrible experience

Rooms are smelly, bathroom is very tiny and dirty for deluxe room, food quality poorest. very bad service specially behavior of manager is very rude. There is no aqua guard water provided , you have to buy single drop of water. Before you book this hotel think twice.

Excellent staff and location. Excellent staff and location.

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The location is nice, right next to Raj Bhavan and Observatory. Mall is 10-15 minutes walking distance. The staff is extremely helpful and well behaved. Food is nice and rooms are satisfactory. The only downside is low network coverage and no wi fi at the hotel. While they can't do anything about the mobile network, the hotel management must provide wifi to the guests so that they don't feel disconnected from the outside world!
