sanderling hotel is situated a height , have to walk stairs to reach there from main rd near bata showroom... however the owner is polite and service is gud.room have cupboard+ dinin in the valley view . there is improvement needed in BF menu....It s nice cosy hotel within budget..

We enjoyed our vacation stay here. It is located a little far from the market, but then that was fine. The maintenance here was really appreciative. The room service were quick, also the food served was delicious. It was value for money.

I like this property. It was reasonable and well facilitated. The room was large and well maintained with all the basic requirements. The staff was alert and always helpful. The food was also delicious. It was a recommendable property for families.

Cleanliness was missing out in our room. Also our room was below the kitchen, so their was lot of disturbance we couldn't sleep properly. Staffs were very slow in their service. We had our breakfast in the restaurant it was not good.

Went for a family a holiday. The place was a good one located in the center of Darjeeling and has easy access to all the important tourist places here. The Service was really good, all the staff members were very courteous and responsive, especially the Manager Mr. Mohanthy who supervises every thing personally, he interacts with all the guests and finds out their requirements and arranges for them. The main draw back for this place are the lack of a lift. To access the reception you have to climb around 15 steps and mind you it looks easy but as you climb them you just feel breathless and panting especially if you are from a place which is at a lower altitude than Darjeeling. The guys in the reception know this and offer you a hot cup of tea in the reception before they ask you to fill up the guest details book. The other main drawback to this place is your taxi may not go up to the hotel during the day time when the market is full of hawkers. The hotel people send their boys to carry your luggage up to the hotel which is a fair offer from them. As we reached at about 8 PM the taxi went up to the hotel but on the other days we had to walk a little distance which was manageable. As far as the restaurant is concerned it was good. Decent food. Not too expensive. May not have all the stuff but whatever they had was tasty and hygienic. No parking at the hotel, we were offered free Wi-Fi. Room service was good enough. Have 24 x 7 hot water, cable TV. The Bath rooms were clean and well maintained The surrounding place is very crowded. The way leading to the hotel was bit shabby as the new constructions beside this place were in progress. You can walk down sorry walk up to the Glenary's bakery which is 100 year old bakery. I suggest you to ask your cab driver to drop you there as the walk up is really tough for those who are not accustomed, though it was close by. You can also go to Keventers which too is a famous eatery in Darjeeling and close to Glenary's. On the same road you can enjoy a movie in the INOX and a Mall too is present on this road for your evening shopping. Overall its a good and decent place with very responsive staff

Rooms are good but only delux rooms have good view from window. Normal rooms window face a wall. We had normal room booked but they upgraded us to Delux room when we complained about view. People are soft spoken they were no friction when they upgraded our room and they even provided us with free breakfast. Difficult to find ,people gave wrong directions ask reception to receive you. Near to Mall road not recommend for people who can't handle lot of stares. Lights are inefficient for room but if you dulex room then don't worry because window light is sufficient. Don't book cab from hotel . Hotel was asking 2800 and we got cab in 2400 from club stand / mall road. Hotel was very clean. Hotel don't serve lunch and dinner. We booked it for aprox 1050 from oyo in that price it was very good. Breakfast was very good tell them you are vegetarian when you ask for breakfast otherwise they will deliver omlet too.

Two nights perfect stay. Classy decor, awesome suite, warm welcome and great service. Hope to visit soon. Moreover reasonable cost. Nice experience. Rooms of different rates, suites available too. Food is good. Rooms are spacious . we took the suite and it was kingly. Their behavior overwhelmed us. Archi Mukherjee

The hotel is located in the market, hence vehicles are not allowed till the entrance of the hotel. Also, to reach the hotel from its entrance, one has to take a flight of 12-15 stairs. We had booked the hotel from a travel site and hoped that the rooms would be pleasant. Firstly, the hotel is quite gloomy. The room given to us had a double bed and a single bed. As we entered the room, we had a stuffy smell, also the curtains could not be opened because another building was blocking the natural light. So we requested the manager to shift us to another room with a view, as we were booked for 3 nights 4 days, even if it was on a higher floor and considering my parents (senior citizens) would have to climb extra (no lift in the hotel). We were promised another room. On the second day,after returning from sight-seeing, when we requested the staff, they asked us to pack our luggage so they could shift us to another room, but 15-20 minutes later, we got a call from the reception saying that the room has been given to someone else. We requested them to shift us to any other room, even if it was small for 3 people, as long as there was some sunlight and looked pleasant. They did not shift us, rather said that we should have given them the room keys when we left for sight-seeing, so that they could shift our luggage when the room was available. We were extremely disappointed and angry as they did not stick to what they said. To our rescue we received a message from our airlines about our flight being re-scheduled. We took this opportunity and decided to leave the hotel the next morning. We spoke to the website and asked them if our money (which was paid fully in advance) could be settled with the amount of meals consumed and the rent of the heater, the manager refused to get in touch with the website people, after a lot of coaxing, he spoke to them and decided to only settle the already paid amount partially along with providing us with complimentary breakfast when we were leaving, which we were okay with. Also, the hotel charges a lot more for hiring vehicles for travelling as compared to the taxi stands in the market. Most staff members were very humble and polite. They also serve very delicious food. It wasn't a very luxurious and pleasant stay, which we were hoping for. It was season time and most hotels were booked, hence this was our last resort.
