The hotel is located ideally at the mall and has a good view from the 1st floor. The rooms are designed as the heritage building. Porter is required to carry your luggage as the cars are not allowed. the room need to be kept clean and TV connection to be working. Only Tea is available on charges. some climbing on the Stairs is also needed. Good Room with a wooden structure and view but service is required to be upgraded.
we stayed in the old Bellevue Hotel, Darjeeling during 04 oct. to 06 oct. 2014 with family during our visit to this lovely hill station. though the tickets were booked online on the recommendations of travelguru we were initially suspicious about quality, safety and location, however all our hesitations got cleared once we entered the hotel, it was very nicely located hotel and the staff were very cooperative. the cleanniness of our heritage suit was good and overall we enjoyed stay at this hotel
The 03 rooms called deluxe alloted to us were not worth living and not value for money. The beds were creaking, matteresses were old and blankets provided to us were smelling. The staff was polite enough. It has no dining facility of its own and has to procure everything from outside. Not recommended
we had very bad experience about this hotel stay. the person sitting on the front desk was sooooooooo rude. we booked 1 suit and 1 deluk room. 1st of all there is no resturant there. There the price of suit including tax were 2750 and we paid more then 3000 Rs. They were not knowing the meaning of suite only. Carpets were pathetic. They don't have people for room servicies. They are so much in air i don't know for what reson, i told them regading writing my opinion about their hotel. They don't have any courtesy to discuss about our problem instead they are telling we have many guests we don't care about your suggestions. They don't have restaurent only. Our whole sikkim tour was excellent but this hotel stay old baleview main has spoilt our good memories.
As the Hotel is on the Hill Top near Chourasta,Mall road, it has excellent view of the City and as well as The Himalaya (K2). From the Taxi Stand, Porter available to carry your baggage to the hotel. The suite was in excellent location. The front Desk Staff was cooperative and helpful. The services were excellent particularly the kitchen staff. They were very supportive. We ordered food and Tea from the Hotel quite a few times and found it excellent particularly the Tea. ABOUT THE ROOM: The room was in excellent location. From the veranda, the view was marvallous. The interior decoration of the room was of wood which could have been maintained better. As the color and shining of the wooden walls were fading, it could have done better. However overall experience was good and the people of Darjeeling and particularly the hotel staff were very cooperative, helpful and of excellent behaviour.

Since agoda.com messed up our reservation with Villa everest, we had to book a hotel for one day and we booked it just for one night. A very basic hotel, with all the basic needs. Do not expect any nice things like asking for help in reception. Big room, nice views, amidst all shops, nice water heater, big bathroom, room is very bright. Bed was good, did not make any sound, For my brother's family, they wanted an extra bed, they gave an extra room attached to the main room, that was very nice. Main disadvantage is, you have to walk to this hotel with your luggage and hotel will not help you in any way. Floor is dirty, if you step on the floor, you have to wipe your legs before you go to bed. No generator, if the power breaks down. No room service or any food within hotel. Noisy throughout the night also.
Had Stayed for two night in the middle of april.,but not this, the heritage property, but the the new wing which is bang opposite Glenary's. Once we reached Darjeeling went on a hunt for hotel rooms in couple of hotel with a limited budget and after going through couple of hotels ,came across this one, with a KFC on the first floor the reception and rooms started ond 2nd. Came across this lady who was kind enough to show the rooms which were perfect and got amazing deal. the ROOMS amazing, mountain views, right on the street, can be noisy at times but mind you ,everything closes by nine ..so its not much of a problem.Very clean ,Spacious and basic arrangements were there.Right close to Chowrasta and the mall,at center Keventer's at the left, Glenary's opposite,Kfc and pizza hut in the same building and all the other good restaurants and cafes and shops around the same lane, makes it a perfect spot. The staffs very nice, there was lady,a couple of guys and an elderly manager who were nice and helpful. They even agreed to let us in after the late hours since we had some function in one of the schools we had to visit, even though they usually they close the main doors after 9pm. The manager insisted us to visit when asked about,The Heritage wing of their hotel, which was a 5 min walk, located on the top at the highest point in the street.the view impeccable, undiluted view of the mountains and the hotel itself of that old English estate charm with it own lawn and flower garden and sittings around (would be surely our next stay. Though you need to shed a little bit more here since the price is higher.) OVERALL ,great stay, good room, great staff and service.
Hotel location is good . Mall side this hotel . But hare manager is not good . He is behaviour is not good . Food is not good . Only hotel room is clean . House keeping is not good . All are problem in this hotel . I suggest not stay in this hotel . Not good hotel .
The hotel was built in 19th century. It is one of the oldest properties of Darjeeling; hence, it truly justifies the 'heritage' tag. Location wise it is right in front of chowrasta and the Darjeeling mall. All Rooms have a good view of the valley as well as the mall road. But u can not view Kanchenjunga from its rooms, except the attic suite I think. We checked into a standard double bedroom. It was quite spacious and full of light with a closed balcony. The floors are covered with wooden tiles. Compared to the tariff of the room, it should have better bathroom fittings and at least a LED TV in the room. They still have kept a 14" CRT TV which may be 20+ years old :P . The hotel may be age old but it does not have a in-house dining hall or restaurant, which is a big set back. Otherwise hotel staffs are well behaved and helpful.
The rooms were spacious and well lit. Bathroom was spacious. People were very polite and courteous. Great view on clear days. Being located above shops one hears the sounds of thoroughare below. Not for lightsleepers. The wooden flooring has seen its glory days before. Located near the Chowrasta.
