excellent with awesome hospitality
I can say that it is a new property. Location wise not good. It is like a plain chain of hotel with small sized rooms, but with comfortable toilet. Service is alright.
1) Rooms are good and well furnished. View from sun desk is one of the best view of Mt Kanchunga. 2) Food was good but Restaurant service was very poor. For most of the things you have to ask them. I was surprised to see that they dont have enough plates to serve the customers. 3) Room service was not as per what we paid for. It was very slow, had to remind them multiple times. Overall i was expecting a much better service for the price that i paid.
I had stayed in an executive room here. The location was fabulous. My room was very cozy, the food provided was delicious, also the room service was friendly & cooperative. I am glad that I choose this property.
The room was very nice. The hotel staff where very friendly with us.

I was at Viceroy Hotel Darjeeling with 8 of my friends for 4 nights. January 28th -29th n then 31st- 2nd Feb. It was a pleasant stay with a few odds. The first room I got was very small n the washroom the toilet bowl was at a very odd position. Bedsheets were not very clean. The staff were very polite n helpful. But on the whole it was quite comfotable.
We stayed at the Viceroy for 3 nights during the first week of Feb. We had rooms on the 4th floor and the view of the Kanchenjunga from the room was terrific. The hotel is located a stone's throw away from the mall and very close to some of the best eateries and pubs in Darjeeling. The disappointment was the room size which was a little cramped. Housekeeping and front desk were helpful and prompt, but the restaurant was quite a disaster. The quality of food was not what was expected and service was frankly sloppy in the restaurant. The restaurant manager was more focused on the PR aspects of the job and paid scant attention to timeliness and availability of food during buffet timings - that too at a time which was completely off season with about 5 or 6 occupied rooms in th hotel. I shudder to think what the restaurant service would be like at peak season. Bottom line - stay at the Viceroy but eat elsewhere
I stayed here for 2 Nights. Very nice place in the heart of the city. Beutifully decorated room, gives a feeling that you are in the tree house. I stayed in the Attic room Premium - King, on the sixth floor, which has got a good view of the road with a clock tower and the breathtaking view of Kanchanjunga. And the sundeck where you can sit and relax with beautiful view in a chill breeze. My room had a fire place and huge - really huge window, and a sloping roof. Small fridge, Microwave oven, Tv and 24x7 hot water. They have got a very nicely decorated dining hall. Though the dinner was very tasty breakfast was very disappointing. And the main market road is just across the road, you can walk down. And there also few very good restaurants are there you can tryout. One is Hasty tasty. Though food is good, place is crowdy. Opposite to that there is a very good chinese restaurant on the first floor. Pizza hut, etc.. Coming back to the hotel, It has got a small library and pool table at some fee, nice cosy place, Very good staff, especially Mr.Arindham at the restaurant extremely courteous and friendly, makes us feel comfortable. Only thing Lift is only from 1st floor to 5th floor. Reception area itself is almost at the 2nd floor level from the road again from their another floor to climb for the lift and for the 6th floor people should climb another floor from 5th... Just one or two things if Hotel can do something about it... is about ventilation..as soon as you enter the reception area one kind of stale smell hits..Another thing is Pigeons on the roof.. through out the day and night keep making sound makes it really hard to sleep in the room. That's about it. Other wise it's one of the best places to stay.
excellent service and management... Hotel rooms are ideal for a vacation. The variety of food ranges from a soup of the day to two desserts. Amazing view from the sun deck and a marvellous view of Kangchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world, directly from your room. The hotel is very near the market. Hospitable hospitality... :-) - Apoorva Shah
From reservations till check out an efficient Viceroy team would make you feel very welcome...cheers to that first! The Attic rooms are a treat to yourselves, the Sun Deck view of Kanchenjunga is amazing and the buffet offers you variety on each day of your stay. Mr Ali and Mr Arindham deserves special mention, though the other staff supporting them make you feel at home... Thank you Viceroy team for a memorable Darjeeling break for our family!
